I see your point. And I think that if they want to buy a ring, ANYring that means something special to them both. Is great. I used to tell people I didn;t care if it was a ring pull from a soda can--it meant the world to me.

See what happens? A thread about diamond rings starts and we are planning a wedding   wait...Ruth and I have to go dress shopping first...somebody catch him quick. No worries....I installed a tracking device on him the minute he proposed.

WHEN a man TRULY LOVES a woman, he WANTS to give her the VERY BEST.....and that includes giving her the very best, when it comes to giving her a ring. Man is naturally a GIVER when he TRULY LOVES. But a woman being naturally the receiver,ony WANTS to GIVE RIGHT BACK to her man, when she feels Loved by her man like that. This is the secret to a happy relationship..... IT'S ABOUT GIVING......NOT ABOUT GETTING....BUT GIVING......but in order to KNOW a love like this, one must first know the God of Love.  . |

I don't particularly care about diamonds, I would do other stones, garnets being at the top of my list. I do want a choice in the type of ring I might wear, however. If it's something the guy wants me to wear "forever" then it's gotta be able to handle the abuse, from digging in the dirt to putting up fence.
My biggest "thing" would be if I wear a ring, he wears one too. I get to lay my claim, if he gets to lay his. I can understand previous comments about safety, but I know several men whose fingers were saved by having rings on, including dad, on the other side of that story. But since I don't see myself getting married, it's probably all moot, and I'll have to go find my own ring. LOL! |

not going to lie... if a guy wants to propose to me, he has to come to me with a white gold diamond ring... does that mean it has to be SUPER expensive?? NO!
I was engaged before (1 or 2 of you might remember)... The ring was only $300... bought on black friday with an employee discount... and the way I felt about it, you would think he spent a million bucks on it.... of course... until we broke up and i chucked it at his head... lol... |
