It is the VETERN, not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the VETERN, not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the VETERN, not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the VETERN, not the campus organizer,
who has give us freedom to assemble..

It is the VETERN, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the VETERN, not the politician,
who has given us the right to vote.

To all of our Veterns:

Thank you for fighting, so that I may have freedom!flowerforyou
I want you to know, how very much, it means to me.smile2
I will always remember, and love you.

A Soldiers Prayer

When I am called to serve, Dear Lord,
Wherever war may be,
Give me courage to fight the battles,
My country may ask of me.

Grace me with Your presence,
And know that I love You,
While I fight the enemy,
My country needs me to.

Help me protect my comrades,
As You expect me to,
And keep me in Your loving hands,
While I do what I must do.

I want to do my duty,
And to give the best in me,
To do what I've been called to do,
And protect our liberty.

And if, according to Your will,
I must give up my life,
Please bless with Your protecting hand,
My children and my wife.

A Prayer for Soldiers

Brave warriors,
should fate find us in battle,
May our cause be just.
May our leaders have clear vision.
May our courage not falter.
May we be triumphant an earn victory
as we show mercy to our enemies.
May our efforts bring lasting peace.
May our sacrifice be always
appreciated by those we serve.
May we return to our loved ones unharmed.
Should we be harmed, may our wounds heal.
Should we perish in the struggle,
may God embrace us and find for us
a place in His Kingdom.

A Prayer for Courage

Lord, I ask for courage.
Courage to face and conquer my own fears....
Courage to take me where others will not go.
I ask for strength...
Strength of body to protect others..
Strength of spirit to lead others.
I ask for dedication...
Dedication to my job, to do it well...
Dedication to my country, to keep it safe.
Give me Lord, concern...
For those who trust me and compassion for those who need me.
And please Lord.....
Through it all lord, be at my side.

If you know someone who is at war, or are a soldier yourself, we invite you to say a prayer below. By doing so, the entire Prayers For Special Help community will be able to pray with you.

God Bless.

God our Father,

Help me to remain true to my ideals
during my service to my country.
Help me be what is in America,
the land of the free.

May I realize that I represent
what our country stands for.

My uniform is a symbol of duty and valor
both in peace and in war.

I take up arms to defend what all Americans hold dear:
life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Grant me the strength to live according to these ideals,
the courage of my convictions, and the resolve to endure whatever dangers threaten.

With you at our side I fear no evil
and resist every enemy,
secure in the knowledge
that you hold me in the palm of your hand.

Amen.

Veterans are people who signed a blank check to Uncle Sam for the amount up to and including their life.

Thank you all for remembering us.

My brother and his wife are in Manila Philippians today to visit his father's grave at the American Veterans Cemetery there. It will be the first time anyone from the States has visited the grave, since he was killed in the Luzon. They had a special celebration there today honoring the fallen Hero's.
