Topic: Do you hear strange voices in your head? | |
---|---|
I have known several people in my life who hear voices in their head. One guy told me the voices were always telling him to do horrible things. I think that is so weird. I wonder what causes that? Is this a mental illness, aliens, demons or what? |

I had a friend who told me he heard voices that wanted him to do horrible things --and he refused to abey-- and then he said they told him that he had broken his contract with them. Not long after that he died. He was only 35 years old. They said it was a brain aneurysm. One has to wonder. Did the brain tumor cause the voices, or did the demons cause the brain tumor... ![]() |

I think we unlearn the abilities we have to connect to 'others' in our dimension. I dont know whether it would matter what we call them, but I definitely think we are in 'contact' with other forces constantly but we dont all have an open line for them to come through on.
I repeatedly dreamed about a certain person that I think was a guardian angel throughout my elementary and teen years. We talked about all manners of things, and he would usually just sing to me and listen when I spoke. I felt safety and love and understanding and trust and it was ALWAYS this person/entity with a guitar. I wont say his name because its personal and private to me. I feel as my life and responsibilities became more 'adult', and the more I learned to 'not trust' that line of communication between us closed and I havent dreamed of him in years. I think if there can be entities comforting us, there can also be those discouraging us or confusing us I also think there are times when our mind simply plays tricks on us.... |

Is this a mental illness, aliens, demons or what? Auditory hallucinations, which would be brought on by mental illness. It's one of the symptoms of schizophrenia. I've never actually known anyone who has heard voices like that, though. |

Never had friends/family that spoke of "voices" telling them to do whatever.
Known many women that talk about having multiple conversations in their head at the same time though. It comes down to being able to turn off the internal dialogue. Some people need to develop this skill. And don't believe every thing you think. ![]() |

I think most people think things through/talk things out in their head. |

Yes, I have many personalities that talk things out in my head but i am well aware that they are all part of me and my own thinking process. I'm not crazy, honest. ![]() ![]() |

Yes, and physical problems, too. We know for a fact that tumors can cause people to experience hallucinations. I've gone out of my way to expose myself to a lot of different kinds of people, and I've known many people over the years that hear voices. Honestly, the ones I've known seem to me to have much higher than average intelligence - but I wouldn't expect that to apply to everyone who hears voices. |

I once contemplated piping a missionary recruiting advertisement
at just barely audible levels through the ductwork to one of my most obnoxious but very religious coworker's office in the hopes that they would go to Africa or something. ![]() |
