Early morning
the sun still hasn’t decided
what it wants to do

I turn over
and pull you closer
and with the exception
of everyday with you
nothing has ever felt this good

You snuggle in my arms
still trapped in a dream

and forever
as I whisper
I love you
just as the sun
finally stretches its wings
and slowly invades
the softness of the room’s dark light

I just stare at you
in amazement
having never seen someone so beautiful
