There's a difference in caring about someone and judging them. Saying what someone else does is wrong, simply because it goes against your belief system is a form of judgment, and it's not fair to the other person. The whole issue of right and wrong are relative and subjective, varying from culture to culture, generation to generation, country to country, I could go on, but you get the point. I choose not to get married and have children, yet I don't care if someone else makes a different choice. I can care about their general welfare- how their spouse treats them and their family- but for me to say "Wow, she's wrong for wanting a husband and family because I don't want one, I believe a woman needs to be a strong person and on her own" it's pretty narrow-minded, and not really a sign of caring, in my opinion. When you care about someone, you want them to be happy, and you desire their highest good, as long as no one is being hurt. You're entitled to your opinion, obviously, but that's just not my definition of caring. I understand what you mean. we can agree to disagree. My mom brought me up with this advice about parents " when you find someone who tells you that their parents dont care what they do so long as they are happy doing it,,you can put a period behind the word CARE. The easiest thing to do is to do and say nothing, it is hard to try and point your children in the right direction,,happy or not." I guess I carry this definition over into what I feel it is to care about anyone. Things are not always obviously and blatantly harmful to others, but they can still be bad choices that are harmful to the one who makes them in the long run and to others down the road. |

.....when people walked into my store....they knew what the heck they wanted... ....If they knew that money does not majicaly "disappear" when they are buried in a trade.... ....that financing is simple mathamatics...1+1=2 folks.... no....you can't have a $30,0000 vehicle for a $200 payment a month....you can't even have a $15,0000 vehicle for a $200 payment.... And it would be great if people understood that I'm not the boogy man....calm down....I'm here to help....If i can't help then I am not doing my job and you should fire me! lol....ugggg....dealing with the general public is a challenge! :p |
