No... I won't cry for you because I just became a new grampa (twice) this past spring.

Just think of it this way...

You get to spoil the baby... buy it all those *ridiculous* toys that *your* parents bought for your kid(s) (remember those damn bead sets???)... then you get to SEND THEM HOME

Being a grand parent is *awesome* (also brings to mind all those *paybacks are a b*tch* threats we made to our kids... now we can just *smile* and watch *them* go through the same things

lol He being a Grandparent Rocks!!! Especially when you get a little time into it. It makes you younger as you go. Really !

The best is when you hear from the horses mouth how they "didn't think the parent thing was going to be so hard and thank you for being theirs". It is usually when the 20-Something stage wears off but you will get used to the freedom and enjoy it.

Kick up your heels and celebrate. It is a lot of fun when you can go buy the cute outfits and don't have to stand and scrub the spit up out of them. lol.

I was forty when I became grammy for the first time.

Being Grammy is better than being mom in so many ways.

But they are so cute when you get to see them. And then the parents raise them like their own.

I became a grandma at age 37. Even though the circumstances were not ideal to say the least. But seeing my granddaughter born and watching as she grows is priceless. They added another one to the mix (a boy) in January . . . now I have two to spoil :).

I've always said...you should have Grand kids first, everything is so much easier with the grand kids, you have more time and patience than you had with your kids.

I would not trade being a grandmother for anything, especially since I am still 'young' enough to enjoy them.

Now I understand better... and it *was* the same situation with me.

My step-daughters were 18 and 16... and both pregnant when their mother contacted me and said I needed to *talk to your daughters*.

At the time, they were living with their mother.

*My reaction*??? (it's a tad late to get overly excited about it... it's time to be supportive of whatever they decide to do)

I moved from Toronto back To Windsor to be there for them should they need anything (like a ride to the hospital seeing as nobody had a vehicle)

They both had their babies this past spring, and now have their own places... one is still going to school, the older one split up with the father of the baby, but is doing good on her own.

And I now have two adorable little grand daughters.

i wont cry with you... because, as scary as it is, a baby is always a miracle!! My neice was born under bad circumstances when my sister was 17... and my parents and I have raised her for her 9 years of life... and i have to say, even tho it isnt easy, none of us would trade her for the world! She makes us happier every day just by existing! At least your daughter seems like she will actually BE A MOM... thats better then most the young parents i've seen lately!

Actually, I think she will be a great mom.......its I always told her school then kids its too hard make it easy on yourself....I love her dearly its just not what I wanted for my daughter.....of course I havent said these things to her at all....I am venting this here...I told her I love her....and the steps to take to get help...and that she should apply to substitute teach and go to school at night...........i just kept telling her I loved her....really didnt know what else to say....
