I don't know. Maybe it too extreme. Like there exists a thing as too extreme for me. Even my older sister laughed when I introduced her to my old lady. Not to mention what my date and her kids thought. But she has stuck by me and we have been through a lot together. I guess if it okay for cowboys to kiss their horses then it is okay with me and my dog. I know it is a just a phase I am going through right now but it really was a miracle when a friend gave her to me. She was just what the doctor ordered.

Mine are the furred and feathered kids. I wouldn't say married, but I won't get rid of them. My critters have been through thick and thin with me.

I have noticed where the dog and me are getting clingy at times and at other times are not so clingy. She will whine or bark depending on her mood and sometimes won't go outside unless I do. It is getting to the point that I think we are getting codependent at times except when it is time for me to go to work when I get into a vehicle but if I go walking up the road she will tag a long with me. Some times she runs ahead and some times she will run after a rabbit but otherwise she just walks along side unless she get distracted. She gets where she barks at everything sometimes but she is getting used to the mail person and the trash man.

I've found that tends to run in cycles, for lack of a better word. The dogs are usually the most noticeable, where they will be very clingy, in your face, bark at the leaves on the trees that have been there all blasted year, to ignore everything, leave me alone type attitude. I see it with all the animals, but since the dogs are in the house with me and closest, its really obvious. The indoor birds tend to be more screamy and loud at certain times of the month as compared to any other time.

And if you pay attention to people, it works the same way.

Yeah. I remember taking a class on 'awareness' one time. Thanks for bringing that back to my memory. We had to go through it when I worked at Handicapped Services working with the handicapped. I can see where it would help me with people who are not handicapped; My relationship with my dog and with the residents at work.

My cat and I are close.. If I'm going on a trip and not taking him( he loves to ride in the car) he will get in the suitcase and not move.. When I fell in the shower, he came running and pushed the curtain aside and meowed that deep meow until I told him about 3 times that I was ok and then he refused to leave my side for a couple of days..Yep, he's my baby and we take care of each other..

Did you choose your pet or did your pet choose you? Mine was given to me but she felt right at home from the get go.

That's sweet miss! I get so tired of people who do the cats are so standoffish thing and that's why they don't like them.
Rainbow, Shadow chose me, I choose Bella, but there was an instant connection, and Freckles choose me, though it wasn't that hard for me to say yes. I've found animals show up when needed. |

you know thats the strangest thing, i have found sometimes animals show up here at the low times. once after an argument with my ex i went out to sit on the porch and i wasn't even out there a few minutes and a stray dog showed up, cutiest little thing all skin and bones and looked like it hadn't eaten in a long time. went back in to get some dogfood and the ex followed me back out and saw what i was doing and she changed her mind about me being mean lol. next day the little dog took off and i never found it so i don't know where it went. sometimes birds will land on the deck close by and look and act like i am not there or they are not afraid, same with squirrels and chipmonks. kinda makes me feel like i am a ghost lol

My cat Homey picked me right before the snow was about to fly. He's been here ever since.

When I was hitch hiking once a stray picked me up. It was a Pitt Bull. We walked for a long time together. It was like losing a best friend when I caught a ride.

Pep (pepper) and I have been married since day one according to her. I think it's called "common doggy law".

Well I have four cats they sleep with me hog my pillow snore in my face, ask me to feed them and I clean up after them, so I would say yes I am married to my pets, two of them chose me, the other two were not originally mine so I chose them and I wouldn't change a thing just make sure they are happy and loved.

I took my Border Collie shortly after the separation and kept her after the divorce. Because I work outside and live in a rural area, I am able to take my dog everywhere with me. I don't know what you call it, but we are very close, she is very affectionate and lovable. I think this whole process of living alone would be pretty boring without her here by my side. We picked her out of a litter of 6 puppies.

My dog, Lady is getting possessive and jealous of me around this other female dog. They will be playing in the yard together but when I come outside Lady will bark at the other dog. And she doesn't like me petting the other dog. Since the other dog is a female Pitt Bull and Lady is German Shepherd Labrador mix I have seen them quite vicious towards each other. I just go back into the house. But it is only with this female dog and Lady is always friendly with people.

I think it's awesome that people are close to their pets, but I think it's a bit weird to say you're married to your pet.

I think of my dog more as a very spoiled child.

Yeah. It is a bit weird. But when you think about it I am a bit weird.
