I think the problem is that people expect things to happen instantly. And happen the way they want. When that doesn't happen, they get angry.

Also, some people use this kind of site as the sole way of meeting people. It should always be an additional way of meeting people, rather than the only way. So when things aren't going so well here, they're still out meeting new people anyway.

well just because people dont have a lot of posts doesnt mean they have not been on the search and finding out it is dead. When i used it, i found out, most people are not active. thats when i started hanging out in the forums. Since i cant be out on a date, may as well hang out in here with the peeps...

Right, which is why people have let him know where he can find the active people on the site. It's his choice whether to follow up on that or not. No one can make him use the forums.

I can understand what it's like to look for locals on here and barely find any. But, I (and many others in the same situation) decided to stick around anyway and get to know people.

People who need instant gratification should probably join multiple dating sites and it sounds like you have since you are able to make a comparison for this site. Sorry you are not having any luck in your area.

things here slowed down here big time winter of 08 and more so as time moved on

this place is ok for those that do not mind working for what you are looking for

Funny thing about sites, this and the others...I too live in an area where there is no one from Mingle close to me( except krupa!). On another site, I get lots of emails from men that live within 60 miles. We email some, but there isn't a forum there worth being on, unfriendly people and no mods. So I stay here on Mingle with my friends.
