The unbelieving Jews stirred up the people against Paul. He used to bind people and take them to Jerusalem and He had to answer for his past wrongs to the people so they would realize that he wasn't the same person.
ACTS 22:3 I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day. 4 And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women. Before he was saved he was persecuting people with the law instead of helping. After he saw the light he was preaching Christ. He was not preaching the laws specifically and Christ had no intention of killing the law He was the fulfillment of the law. MATTHEW 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. While Paul made his defense to the people for what he had done. He also had to tell of the love Christ had for them. ACTS 22:5 As also the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem, for to be punished. 6 And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me. 7 And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? 8 And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest. After he was struck down In the middle of a trip to persecute more people he had a realization of the great wrong he was doing. The Lord told him to go to Damascus for instruction on what to do. ACTS 22:14 And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth. 15 For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard. Paul used the experiences in his life to be a witness to the world and he started telling of Christ. If there is any that has not asked Christ for salvation Christ loves you and wants to forgive you of your sin. Here is a sample prayer, If you’re not saved ask God for salvation in Jesus Christ’s Name. Have faith in what your praying and you will be saved. “Dear heavenly Father I know that I have sinned against you and am deserving of punishment. But Jesus Christ took the punishment that I deserve, so that through faith in Him I could be forgiven." "Jesus Christ, with your help I place my trust in you for salvation, and I ask that you will forgive me of my sins.” Come and tell a Christian church you have asked for salvation and they will help you grow in Christ. Come to Sunday school you will find it to be a great reward. |

Jacob was a cheater, Peter had a temper, David had an affair, Noah got drunk, Jonah ran from God, Paul was a murderer, Gideon was insecure, Miriam was a gossiper, Martha was a worrier, Thomas was a doubter, Sara was impatient, Elijah was moody, Moses stuttered, Zaccheus was short, Abraham was old, and Lazarus was dead.... GOD doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the CALLED.
