Do you like or dislike terms of endearment?

If you like them, do you use them with people you know, or with strangers? Do you use them with everyone, or just with someone you're dating?

If you use them with strangers, does it bother you when they ask you not to? Do you stop using them if someone asks you to stop?

I'm just curious, as everyone seems to have very different feelings on the use of terms of endearment.

Humm myself I use them with family and those I'm dating....

I never use them with strangers for you never know how others take it.

If at times others tend to use them I don't get offensive about the issue.

Besides I live in Texas and it does seem to be pretty common at times...whoa

I don't know sweetheart. Terms of endearment seem condescending at times when used on people you barely know.

How are you pumpkin?

I use them with everyone...even strangers. I don't have a problem with someone using them to me either...as long as it isn't meant to be condescending or belittling.

I take it in the spirit given.

I use hon all the time (even to strangers) and never had anyone even look at me funny when I say it. I say darlin' to friends
