Found this on http://www.childfree.com/ -- "According to the U.S. Census, 44 percent of women ages 15-44 are childless." I'm sure this is a typo, because the actual figure is 0.0000000000044 percent. Either that, or someone has a very very big dungeon somewhere.

I think they live all in one state...maybe Alaska. Sorry Lex. That makes sense, too, because Alaska is far away, and Sarah Palin is probably keeping them all away from me. |

I couldn't find the article on that link but I bet this number probably includes women who lost their children and gave them up for adoption. Even so, it's still high. I told you you were screwed.

I don't know. I actually know several people in that age range with no children. Hi Singmesweet, I do too but they become pregnant a few years later. 44 % of 15-44 year old women??? That's almost half of the women population. That can't be right. |

It says here "childlessness is most common among highly educated women."

cbs news dated February 11, 2009
women ages 15 to 44 who are childless, according to new Census Bureau data from a June 2002 survey. That's 44 percent of all the women in that age group http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/10/24/national/main579973.shtml washington post dated Friday, June 25, 2010 Nearly one in five American women in her early 40s is childless, according to a report that shows a striking increase in women who don't have biological children. The trend was much less common in the 1970s, when one in 10 women did not have children by 40 to 44, the age bracket researchers use to designate the end of childbearing years. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/06/25/AR2010062500188.html |

Have you tried dating Chelsea Handler? If it works out can I get a finders fee? http://whynokids.com/ She makes so much sense, it's frightening. Of course, now that she's so vocal about advocating a non-mainstream agenda, I expect her to "disappear" in the not-too-distant future.... |

I don't know. I actually know several people in that age range with no children. Me too. Both my sister and 3 of my female co-workers are all in that age range and have never had children. |

maybe im dumb but it sounds like 44% of women somewhere between ages 15-44 dont have any kids when it says that they are childless.

Just like the Loch Ness monster, or Sasquatch. You're probably right, they don't have kids either.... |

I'd like to know what it is for men. I think Lex and maybe 4 others I know don't have kids.
I don't even believe that about women to be honest! |

I'd like to know what it is for men. I think Lex and maybe 4 others I know don't have kids. I don't even believe that about women to be honest! It's hard to assimilate. My experience has been that, as soon as they're old enough to understand the concept of dressing themselves in the morning, their entire existence is devoted exclusively to reproduction. And reality TV. 44% can't possibly be right. |

I have no children and I have never married. I am better off for it. I personally like childless women. It ain't thier fault that they got to live a free life. They are more easy going. Just the ones I have met.

Most 15 to 18 year olds are going to be childless. Maybe there are a lot more younger people in the states and this could skew the figures. I wonder what the figure for, say, 30-44 year olds would be.
They also omit the fact that 70% of mothers in Alabama eat their babies. |
