I vote to start a new party called the 'libservatives'
individualism WITHIN the guidelines and boundaries of what serves the greater good for instance, in our home, the kids were in by 10 pm the places they chose to go or how they chose to get home, so long as we were notified to keep from worrying, were mostly their INDIVIDUAL choice based upon their individual interests or,,, in our home, we had plenty of space so everyone had to participate in keeping the space clean what they did to contribute was their choice based upon individual preference, so long as they did SOMETHING as a libservative, I Believe there is a common greater good that applies to the larger community ..like not littering, or not cursing around children, or not sleeping around for sex sake ,,,not things that can or should always be legislated but good examples of things that individually dont appear to 'harm' anyone but collectively(if enough started to do them out of acceptibility) might greatly change our community for the worse I believe that the greater good should be broad enough to allow for individual preferences and choices WITHIN its scope,,,, but not so broad that being INDIVIDUAL becomes a priority too far above being a 'part of the unit or community at large' |

You only dealt with a couple of social issues and there are probably 30% of the population that wouldn't go for it.
There are core issues that people just will not compromise on. It's not something that is new. It's been going on for a longtime. It is more prevalent now with the 24/7 news/propaganda channels. We are past the point of no return. |

They have a few core economic/fiscal principles that they seem to agree on, but beyond that I don't see a consensus on many others. |

The unifying objective is smaller government and reduced spending. Other than that, they vary widely in their views. |

A viable 3rd party would have to limit its platform in scope and focus on a few issues that can actually get more than 3 people to agree on. |

MsHarmony, you need to find one more person in addition to me to get this party off the ground. ![]() Oops....make that two more people. We need 4. |

Problem with the Tea Party is is that it was hijacked by god fearin subscribers to the good book i.e. Romney, Bachman, Palin, Perry and anyone else that decides they may have a better shot with this than the old republican party. |
