one of the biggest misunderstanding about handicap placard is

does not give automatic use of handicap parking

if handicap person is not driving they are to be dropped off at door

and then driver is supposed to park in a regular spot

as to leave unaccompanied handicap drivers that need the close
parking a handicap spot

and

if you borrow a car with handicap plate and you park unjustly in
a handicap spot the person allowing use of the handicap plate may
loose the handicap designation this is also for handicap placard

so if your friend or relative abuse your handicap designation they
obviously dont care if you loose it n what does that tell you

i dislike b n last on the page

some 'handicaps' cant be seen, so people have no biznez 'lookin' at you anyway. Sorry you get that.

I was going to add that too, because people APPEAR healthy doesn't mean they are,, there could be some UNSEEN issue that makes longer distances hard to cover, like heart or breathing issues,,,

we probably should try to assume the best in people instead of the worst,, one never knows,,,

Don't get me started. People are always complaining about having a job, and don't realize how lucky they are just to have one. Is it really such a big deal to miss a few friday/saturday nights out? The chances are, you won't miss much anyway if you have to work a few weekends, because if you do the same stuff every weekend anyway, there's not much to miss. Why say "Thank god it's friday?". Not like you're gonna die soon. It gets a bit too samey a lot of the time. I don't understand those types who have about three children, and they say they're poor, yet they can afford a sports car, a dog, a widescreen tv, other expensive stuff. Try justifying that. More like there's something dodgy going on. You can't get paid 72 a fortnight, and be able to afford all of that stuff on such little money.

there is another place where I think its best not to assume

a tv a car and stuff we assume are 'expensive' are one time purchases, we don't know when they were purchased or what that persons situation was when they were purchased, let alone if THEY purchased it or purchased it wholesale or yardsale or second hand,,,or someone gave it to them, etc,,,

I think we are too busy in America looking at what material things other people have,,,,I mean unless its a mansion in a high cost neighborhood or we have personal knowledge of their income,, I think this is where the keep our eyes on our OWN prize comes in handy,,,

even if I had my health, and didn't have a handicap tag, I would park close to doors too

its in the three digits, and walking in that is different than walking indoors or in cooler weather,,,

but the 'lazy' that does bother me is the teen kind of lazy,,lol

you know,, where they have all this energy to entertain friends, to go out dancing, hanging out, etc,, but it just kills them to walk the trash bag to the curb,,,laugh laugh laugh

THAT so irks me,,

That is not true. I have a handicap placard. I know the rules, and the rules don't require that a handicapped passenger be dropped off at the door.

this doesn't really seem likely, they are still handicapped, even if they are initially dropped off, it doesn't mean they will be picked up and if the car is going to be parked and they are going to travel in it,, it can be parked in handicap,,,,because one still has the prerogative to decide to walk or be picked up,,,,,,,

i can agree to that

but the officer or onlooker may not

it could end up being decided in court

as a handicap person did not get out of the vehicle upon parking

Now that I am "handicapped" what irks me is people treating me like a cripple. I was holding a door open for some people at a bookstore, the teens all walked in and one managed to say thanks; but the older people said Aww, thank you let me get the door for you. I wanted to bark at the lady and tell her I am not crippled. They have me train new staff at work, so far noone has been able to keep up with me, but who gets their hours and salary cut?

I think its sad people only equate handicap to not being able to walk,, not ALL handicaps(things that make mundane activities more chalanging) are visible

there are many many internal types of obstacles people face that make certain exertion dangerous or more difficult for them

best rule is for people to mind their own,,,,,just my opinion though

if there is a handicap tag, dont worry about the why,, move along,,,
