Why do people have to die for peace??? I don't get the equation....Wars are always started by presidents who know they will never get killed because they send their "own" countrymen to get kill instead!!!!

Hey Gypsy love, I served six years active army already, and am trying to lose enough weight to be ablet ogo back in if I so choose. I am all for a partial draft (basically you have a choice after higschool, continue with colleger or go active duty (yes there is a lot more to it than just that and I would love tot elly ou more about it if you want to hear it).

Do you really have to ask? Because some people are willing to kill to get what they want, be it money, land or power. When one of those people controls a nation, it becames the responsiblity of the world to stop their assault. Without war, we might still have slavery...was the Civil War worth it? Without war, the Jews would all be dead...was WWII worth it? Without the first Gulf War, Kuwait wouldn't be a country and millions of it's citizens would have been murdered...was the First Gulf war worth it? Peace is bought with the sword, it's a simple fact of reality.

They aren't my "facts", they are reality. Half of the Jews in the world were killed by the Nazis, without WWII, there would be no Jews left. Before they were President, the President is too valuable to put on the front lines.

The US goverment is civilian run, so the leader (President) does not have to have had any military experiance. The candidate with the most electoral votes wins, regardless of experiance (military or otherwise). Lincoln was a lawyer with no military experiance and is commonly considered our best president.

Are you denying that the Holocaust happened? I hope you don't live in Germany, because you can go to prison for a long time for doing that. It's a simple thing to look up, type Holocaust into any search engine. If no military intervention had occured, the Nazis would not have stopped until their controled the whole world. How is this hard to understand? How am I twisting or making up facts? War was necessary to stop the Nazis, not opinion, just the facts.

Lincoln was a wartime president with no military experiance.

Advisors give the president military advice, even if the president has military experiance. This is a straw man, the current President's lack of military experiance doesn't preclude him from leading the country during military action.

i have a 19 yr old and dam if he's going to die for bush. the marines went to his school and did their dog and pony act and i told my son its a bunch of BS. so he got his little butt into college and thats where our young men need to be. now what they need to do is do a sweep of all the gang members of los angeles and where ever else, and put them in the military, let them loose their lives since they dont value it anyways!!!
