I was re-reading Lord of the Rings for the umpteenth time, as well as westerns and sci-fi.
Favorite magazine was the monthly Reader's Digest. I devoured it. |

I can't remember what my first King book was, it might have been The Shining. I know I was watching King adaptations before I had read his books, I remember watching and being freaked out by Salems' Lot when it originally aired on TV. |

I have a hard time remembering if I read the book or watched the movie when it comes to his stuff. I think maybe I read Carrie first. |

Jean Auel, various romances, science-fictions, etc. I don't think I read Jean Auel until high school. But, her books were awesome! The were. The last two just sucked though. Ugh. Clan of the Cave Bear was the only book that I was allowed to read, but not allowed to discuss with other kids. I didn't do a lot of that anyways, since the kids didn't care, but this was the book that mom emphasized due to the sex and rape scenes. LOL! What she didn't realize was that book was mild compared to some of the other old sci-fi/fantasy books I got my hands on at the library. Sharon Green wrote a really interesting Amazons one, that was along the lines of Edgar Rice Burroughs and similar sorts. |
