She mentioned this in the first message she sent me... I am new to online dating ( I'm actually not an expert at offline dating, either). Should I be paranoid?

I've been doing this a long time, and what I've found is that anyone who tries to get you to use a Yahoo (or msn, hotmail, etc.) address to contact them right away is a scammer. End of story.
We have e-mail on this site, so there's no need for anyone (legitimate) to try to prod you into going off-site. |

So if someone does try to get us to go to yahoo right away should they be reported? This happens to me on almost a weekly basis.
I always just let it go and don't answer them back, but would reporting them be better? |

I always just let it go and don't answer them back, but would reporting them be better? I report anyone who sends me an e-mail trying to get me to go off-site. No exceptions. As far as I know, there has never been one who didn't turn out to be a scammer. I'm not saying it's impossible for someone to be legit and still try to get you to go off-site, but I've never seen it happen. And I've caught (I'm not exaggerating here) hundreds of them, maybe more than that. |

Yep... I googled the email addy she sent me. She's shady. I'm learnin' Thanks. :) Good job, Also if you have facebook, you can search it. Sometimes that can help too. I agree with Lex, if they are trying to get you offsite, be wary. You can talk on this site and get to now someone first, then when comfortable you can go to regular email and phone. Be careful Although the mods are good at cathcing scammers they are everywhere, and some are actually clever enough to avoid detection. Good Luck and |

But I have not replied. Because, I learned in here, Yahoo means yahoo. |
