I think so. I tell my truth. Based on my experience, the way I see it, what I understand. It is the truth, my truth.

Here comes my question if truth is in deed relative then why regard it as important?

Teditis's photo

Geez... never saw that coming.

I guess it just wouldn't matter.
Facts either...

Nicolesnooki's photo

So you are saying truth does not matter and so do facts

Teditis's photo
Thu 08/04/11 05:45 PM
Nope... nothing remotely like that.

Help me understand 'it just wouldn't matter.Facts either...'

Well... if I thought that truth were reletive... then it wouldn't matter.
But I don't think this way... see?

Is a bogus arguement like:
If a tree falls in the forest, yadayada.
It's a misunderstanding of the words noise and sound.
Yes it makes a noise, no it doesn't make a sound.

Relative truth only applies to social awareness and perception(sometimes)... but truth is truth, most often based on facts.
Like smiling at tigers...
Human: Well, I was walking thru the forest and saw this tiger... it was so beautiful, that I couldn't help but smile. Then it attacked me...
Tiger: Well I was in the forest over there when this human barred it's teeth at me... so I fugged him-up.

Truth isn't about social/perspective differences.... it's about honesty.
Er, that's my truth. haha.

That actually makes sense. But that is absolute truth you are not in a defensive position..lmfao

Truth is very relative.

But its very important because when you understand someone elses truth, you can understand the heart as well.

That's correct Captain but people are selfish they regard their truth as the only truth therefore rendering it useless coz if i say am right and you say you're right and we're both wrong...

The trick is being right (and wrong) together.

Gearhead had it pretty much right....relative "to" what? Truth to a particular fact or realtiy? Truth "to" a standard or ideal? But if you are asking me if I'm a truthful person? My answer is yes happy flowerforyou .

I think truth is absolute, but perception of the truth is relative
