Dragoness, never say never.
People who are trained to use a gun and know how to shoot... and their aren't very many average citizens who are.... would make a difference. The problem is, people don't have the training. If more people did, I bet you will see them shooting back. Anyway, just because you don't know of any incidents like you claim "never" happen.... what's your point anyway? That people should not carry guns? What is your point? That people are afraid to use them? Never say never. The times are coming. |

I lived in Alabama for over a year. It cost about $10.00 for a gun permit. Everyone and their grandmother has a concealed weapon. My mother-in-law carried one in her purse. Some guy tried to car jack her and rob her while she was sitting in her car at a light. She reached into her purse and aimed her gun at him. He only had a knife. Too bad. He ran away. Crime was very low there. (Dothan) I only heard of one robbery while I was there, and the lady being robbed shot the robber in a supermarket parking lot.  None of which changes the fact that no gun toter ever saves the day at mass shootings EVER! so how would you know if one did? if the shooter was stopped before the mass killing, would we be in a position to know? your comments are baseless, because it is something that won't make the headlines like a mass killing would... |

The Texas State University shootout had eh local police deputizing ANYONE who showed up with a rifle and instructed them to shoot at anyone in the clock tower of the university. The locals were being used for suppressing fire while the police managed to get close enough to the building Finally to end the shooting spree. Again the police deputized anyone who had a rifle to lay down suppressing fire on Charles Whitman. So don't blow smoke up my backside! Thank you! |
