Topic: She used my credit card without my permission

OK, here is the situation. I had a bad relationship that went on for a long time and then I just got tired of paying her bills when she would not do anything for me. I stopped taking her calls because I wanted to break up with her and she would not go away; or change. So today I checked my bank statement on a whim and I see that she paid her sprint phone bill with my credit card. So now I have to go 10 days without plastic as my new card comes in the mail and in order to get my 111$ back I have to file a police report and press charges; putting her in jail. What should I do? Eat the money or put her in jail? Bear in mind she has cost much more and done much less then any woman that I have ever been with.

Dude for a hundred bucks they are not going to throw her in jail.

They won't even waste the time trying to find out where she lives.

It will cost you more than that to take her to court.

Write it off as lost and good riddance.

I must concur. Write it off, good riddance. Do not repeat.

I'd say lesson learned, and cut your losses. Well from now on don't let any women near your credit card, unless you are married to her. Maybe not even then :)

I had an ex steal one of my cards and charge up $30,000! She went as far as changing the address they sent the monthly statement to to her Mom's address so I wouldn't know about it. I never use my cards, so I never even missed the statements. The cops never even did anything about that!

She wont go to jail. Sue her in small claims court. Just make sure you can prove she did it.

I hate to tell you this, but all she has to do is say that you gave her permission and you lose that case.

The problem here is that you were with her for “a long time” and apparently (because you never stated whether or not she actually stole the card) had access to it, you will have a very tough time proving otherwise. It is going to look like you are just one more jilted lover trying to exact revenge.

Quit while you’re ahead (well, out only 100 bucks) and move on.

it didn't say he had to prove she did it, it said to file a complaint and press charges...so thats what i would do...

that wasn’t really aimed at you, but none the less, I don’t see the point of going through all of that if you are not going to peruse it to the fullest. in which case, well, I already explained…

Strong arguments for nailing her to a wall AND moving on. IMO

I'd move on. Just doesn't seem like you'd be teaching her any lessons at this point.

Although, if no one does anything about 100$ thefts then the thieves get away with inflicting damage by 1000 cuts on others. Somethings gotta give here.ohwell

You really don't need a woman like that.
