I feel ripped off. Californians are such total *Edit* about guns. it is fine for cops and criminals to carry but for the rest of us law abiding citizens? We aren't allowed to protect ourselves!

I feel ripped off. Californians are such total *edit* about guns. it is fine for cops and criminals to carry but for the rest of us law abiding citizens? We aren't allowed to protect ourselves! "California does issue CCW permits, contrary to popular belief. The permits are issued by city or county law enforcement. Because cities normally defer the decision to the county, the sheriff usually issues the permits." Wisconsin became the 49th state to put CC into law. Leaving Illinois the only state not to have it. |

Because cities normally defer the decision to the county, the sheriff usually issues the permits." Wisconsin became the 49th state to put CC into law. Leaving Illinois the only state not to have it. First of all allow me to clarify what you just said, California has laws that allow it but they DO NOT ALLOW CONCEALED CARRY AT ALL HERE NO MATTER WHAT THE LAWS SAYS! I knew a body guard who had to get a FEDERAL PERMIT as a state registered and card carrying security guard and personal protection. They would allow him to carry open but under heavy restrictions. He needed conceal carry for his job and he was refused by the state and local law enforcement under bogus pretenses. We are talking about a person with an impeccable record and fully trained under state and federal regulations and qualified to carry. The only time I ever seen him draw his weapon was at a shooting range. When asked to show his gun his reply was NO followed by Fuque off, followed by a punch in the mouth if the person asking didn't get the hint. I seen him hit someone over that too! They DO NOT ISSUE HERE EVEN THOUGH THEY CAN! At last Florida had the balls to allow you to carry a loaded hand gun in your glove box of your car becasue of all the car jacking going on over there. That cut down on the car jacking a lot! |

can't wait to hear the news from all those drunken frat parties at FSU. That's funny Florida adopted the CCW in 1987 and I haven't heard of any gun violence at frat parties at FSU. |

On July 08, 2011 Wisconsin Gov Walker signed into law conceal carry. It's about time we came out of the dark ages and get with the program. not sure Im anymore excited to return to the wild wild west than I would be to remain in the 'dark ages', at least in the dark ages people needed to have some skill, strength, and courage(or some combination) to actually take another life as opposed to the cowardice of being able to be a block away, and the strength of having to pull on a trigger,,, |

Oh that's the liberal talkin points on the subject of CCW. As I stated before WI is the 49th state to pass a CCW law leaving Illinois the only state to not have one. I have yet to see anything like the "wild wild west" happening in these states that have had the CCW law for years. |

can't wait to hear the news from all those drunken frat parties at FSU. It is a Federal offense to bring a gun to schools. In a way the law has a catch 22 if you are a teacher or student leaving your car and gun locked in its glove box in the parking lot since parking lots are considered college grounds proper. Florida made a special circumstance in their laws that as long as the gun remains in a locked glove box it is not on the Grounds Proper ie. like sneaking it into class hidden under your shirt or backpack. THAT IS AGAINST THE LAW UNLESS YOU HAVE A LEGITIMATE CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT. Now for the others who know nothing about getting a Concealed Carry Permit. You must attend (I am not sure of the requirements these days but this is what I remember) 8 hours of safety training AND police weapons carry classes (about 10 more hours) on top of a written exam, background check, special permits for the weapon you are carrying BY SERIAL NUMBER so the permitted can't just carry a Dirty Harry Overkill Special, and a weapons competency exam with proving you can sustain a group of 4 inches at 50 feet when shooting. Some states even require a pass through Hogan's Alley and that is not easy by any stretch. When adrenalin gets going people get a very itchy trigger finger. You could prove someone is out to kill you and that is not good enough to carry concealed but in that case if it is my life on the line FUQUE THE LAW! Now would any of you rather be Judged by 12 or carried by 6 if someone clearly was out to kill you? I would rather live to be judged by 12. |

All I know is that concealed carry is not going to make the north side of Milwaukee any safer.

now I dont have to just be worried about drunk drivers,,, great,,,,

All I know is that concealed carry is not going to make the north side of Milwaukee any safer. That's because 95% of the people on the north side are already carrying guns. |

And now the other five percent can get theirs. And the folks on the east, south, and west sides can too. Maybe we can get some old cannons and start lobbing shells at each other like the old days of Kilbourntown, and Jenauetown. |

It could be that there will be no increase in gun violence. It seems like a risky gamble. My mind is open on this. I don't like the idea of concealed weapons. I want to know who around me is packing. I run into some folks up here who wear pistols in holsters. Mostly for bears or cougars. No problem. I don't know why anybody would want to keep the fact that they are packing a secret from the people they are around.
the ones who are up front about it don't worry me. The ones who want to keep it a secret make me wonder. They are not people I want to be around. |
