ehxsnohs, don't discouraged yourself, learn from gypsy41, who is open for the age group 18-56, revise ur profile and come up with a little different wording.
I tell you one thing that guys don't attract with long and tedious profiles, and same rule applies here with guys too, if they write too much about them.
Be short, sweet and honest with your profiles, you will get, what you want.

ehxsnohs, I'm in the same boat. Plenty of e-mails from people who are 897,000 miles away but the locals all avoid me like I'm radioactive. (Which I am, but how would THEY know?)

I keep thinking that some new local people will join any day now. And they do, I see new ones from Illinois joining JSH all the time. But they never post on the forums and they don't respond to e-mails. So I either have to wait for someone more communicative to show up, or try something else....

Lex, I got many emails from different people about the same complain, they tried many sites but always come out frustrated as they go to thier local sites, they find lots of women pictures but none of them available on-line at any time of the hours and days and they also not responds over the emails. It is not an individual complain but many others of the same nature.

don't be discouraged. continue to participate in the forums, try to have fun and you will find each other in time. this is a great place for the shy types but it takes a while for people to get to know each other just like in RL.

Frank, here's the thing I don't understand:

Last year, I signed up with a pay site for 3 months, and I was contacted by 174 of their members during that period, most of them locals. Some were very pushy about wanting to meet in person, usually at a bar, so I said no thanks.

Then I come here, and the vast majority of people are very friendly and helpful, but the locals JUST DON'T TALK.
Makes me wonder why they signed up in the first place, but I guess that's really none of my business.

Makes me want to move to Canada, where they actually seem to want to talk to me....!

You know I'm game for Canada...just looking to go in half on gas. I'm trying to learn the Canadian national anthem now. I'm as far as Oh Canada, But its a start.

i like meeting people out of the country and from the states i live in a small place and dont travel much to I take it for that..its fun.. to meet some local is like a needle in a hay stack...lol
