A classic line. More than one famous person is quoted this and variations of it. Would getting rid of lawyers really benefit our system and nation?

Do laws have to be complicated justifying the presence of lawyers? If laws were written gray and the degree of each infraction judged on its individual case merit I feel that we could have less law and confusion. You can say it is illegal to kill a person and try to argue that law is blanket statement but what if the homicide was justified as in the deceased was trying to kill the accused?

Why this question one may ask. If you seen the Pixar Movie the Incredibles Mr. Incredible gets sued buy a person who was trying to commit suicide but was rescued by Mr. Incredible and hurt in the rescue. Mr. incredible could have defended himself on the argument that he was preventing the plaintiff in the law suit from breaking the law (considering that suicide is illegal in the USA!!!). Instead he looses becasue he infringed on the man's right to kill himself and injured the man in the process of committing a crime. Had I been a juror I would have been PISSED off at the plaintiff.

It would be different to me if the person was dying of a terminal disease and all the Morphine in the world is not subduing the pain and death is knocking on their door and they wanted to end their life to spare them the pain.

Suicide is wrong and BLAH BLAH BLAH but I can see times where it is more just and humane to put a person down if medical science cannot save them especially from a prolonged life of torment from a disease.

What does a perfectly black and white legal system do for us anyways when there is no such thing?

reminds me of Liar, Liar with Jim Carrey where that woman tells Carrey's character that her friend was robbed by some dude in the middle of the night and he fell through the ceiling and landed on a butcher knife, he sued and won and her friend had to pay like $6000. that story always makes me go WTF, seriously how is there any way to justify it for the thief? i cant think of anything.

I don't think killing lawyers is the answer...and I wouldn't want to see my brother murdered because he is a lawyer.

Those who write the laws can't recite them... we will all be criminals at the rate their going.

Some one new needs to create the governing laws...but who?
No one can agree on whats right and wrong.

Were screwed either way!

The problem of course is there is no black and white morality, and we want our justice to be moral.
