my best guess
that those are interpretation of some person who is really trying to relate UFO's with religion I have no idea though i'm just guessing |

At first glance, I thought God and Christ were 'writing' with enormous pens, on a sphere which could represent the universe...with some kind of drain plug at the bottom.

First you have to understand a few things...
This was painted WAY back in the 1600s and still hangs in the San Lorenzo in San Pietro, Montalcino, Italy...making it one of the oldest works depicting a UFO. It is widely popularized by conspiracy theory experts that this is a painting of one of first UFO sightings. Eucharist...communion, The Last Supper, the "this is my blood, this is my body" deal... You'll actually see UFO's and other supernatural things in a lot of early paintings... Personally...I think it's just all the drugs they were doing the lead in the oil paint...LOL |

fingerpaint...I eat my oil paints all the time & never get high..damn..wrong paint..haha

89 views...and only 4 comments...this is a hard subject to consider in the realm of religious beliefs..because it suggests an outside influence....if that is the case...then what of the teachings of the bible?...the bible itself is full of references that could be interpretted as UFO events...
(Ezikeal saw the wheel etc)...if we accept the reality of this topic..how does that change faith? and religious history?....questions that have always challenged me.... |

I consider artists in history as chroniclers of events...news reporters of a sort...representing events to the best of their ability within the framework of their knowledge base at the time...
I look at these paintings and wonder what really happened here...they just didnt decide to represent christ with his hand on a satellite thingy because it looked cool....most artists back then supported themselves thru contracts with the power families/royalty or courts or influence of the time...people that knew things that the average potato grower would not... certainly piques my curiosity |

I agree with davinci, it certainly makes me wonder as well.
Historically speaking, artifacts and art unearthed thousands of years later have been used to piece together what ancient cultures might have been like. In early times, without books, A/V files or eyewitnesses, we have relied on the stories that the art, clay pots, metal fragments and other findings have told. If people a thousand years from now saw our modern day art I wonder what they would make of us if they didn't have any other records? Or if they only had access to our news broadcasts. YIKES! With history though, we can trace back and find frames of reference. I am wondering what prompts someone in the 1300's to paint images of UFO's. Such imagery is also found in 3,000 year old Egyptian hieroglyphs. There has to be a frame of reference ... so it makes sense that they capture images of what they know or have heard about. When we start looking, there are so many ancient images from all over the world that are strikingly similar. Makes me go hmmmmmmmmm |

to me (I saved it to paint and blew it up lol) it looks like christ and our Father painting the universe. When blown up, the yellow ball appears to be the sun, located at the top of the universe, and off to the bottom left area you will find earth. above and between Christ and our Father is the holy spirit hovering over the both of them.
