And yet again, there's a simple answer. If the thread in question isn't something I'm interested in, I have no need to post.

For example - Someone starts a thread sayin' I just went to the store and bought some bologna. I'll read it, but I really don't care. Same for the "why me," or the ever so popular self-conscious "everybody other than me" stuff.

Give me a reason to post and I will.

I don't mind the views I get vs replies...probably because I view others too. Sometimes the pictures they put up in here are cute or funny and I want a better look at it since everything in the forums are smaller.

As for profile views:
I am in Stealth Mode until I choose to take the next step with someone. Until then, I don't want to give people false impressions.

As far as threads:
I am not as active in the Forums as I once was. I am more selective about when and where I post.
Sometimes I run across a few people in a thread with whom I do not wish to interact, and so that will deter me from posting.
Sometimes I have nothing to say, or it has already been said.
Sometimes I do have something to say, but when I type it out, I realize I cannot adequate relay my thoughts in words.
Sometimes I like to just be a ghost reader.

I actually check the Forums several times per day. However, I may only type a total of 3 posts.

i thank everyone for their responses. I see all points. I was generally just curious. Not mad or anything. In honesty i mostly keep to my own posts unless something intrigues me enough and i always comment when i view. And as for profile views, i did not know there was a stealth mode. I kinda find that stupid. I think profile views are great. That's what i miss about myyearbook. But that doesn't matter. I don't think someone is interested if i get a view. If someone wants to talk to me they'll message me. Then i'll know.

I rarely do drink; as a matter of fact I did have a few wine coolers at our Mother's day BBQ but before that I haven't had a drop for years.

Because they're curious about something you said. I do it. Has nothing to do with whether or not they're interested in you. Just sort of a reflex. You say something, they look to see more about who said it.
