Personally, I would fight it just on principle.

You see, 16 years ago I applied for a pistol permit, and was denied during the background check. I was told that I had a felony listed on my criminal record. I have never been arrested, before or since. My criminal record is completely clean. So, I questioned it, and it turned out that the officer processing the forms had typed in the wrong SSN without bothering to cross-check any of the other info. Then I was allowed to get the permit.

I only wanted to carry a pistol because sometimes I go picking for wild blueberries in bear country.

The only way to make officials pay more attention to possible mistakes is to fight it when it happens, especially when it has a real impact on our life like not being able to drive to work....or being falsely imprisoned. To just turn a blind eye does nothing of real, lasting value. All provides is instant gratification by making the problem go away.

I do agree. The situation was not mine. I do not know how I would deal with it. The beatings were merciless. But at this juncture, I feel it needs to be confronted for the future.

First off...

If I was a cop trying to cuff someone I didn't know for murder...I would literally beat them till they crapped on themselves before trusting them to allow me to slap the cuffs on.

Friend or not Sharri...it's a tough world.

The last time I was in jail was for a seat belt ticket that I refused to pay. 13 year later, I figured out I still had a warrant for the same ticket. American justice is what it is

I know it's a harsh world. I am beginning to see what really goes on. I do not always understand, I know it is not fair. More and more these"isolated incidences" are hitting closer to home.

Our system has MANY flaws,,and the ones with money,,PAY others to find everyone of them,,but NOT as to make a change in them,,but to just USE them for their benefit...IF the people who were taught law and pratice Law for the benefit of this Nation THEY SERVE..
Wouldn't it just makes so much sense for THEM ALL to MAKE EVERY LAW AND CASE THE BEST WHOLE AND SOLID LAW THAT IT COULD BE?
Instead of TRYING to find ITS flaws just to CHEAT THE LAWS OF THIS LAND..I have a friends daughter who's husband,,stole her car and was chased by the Law,,and HE caused much damage to Her vehicle and the Police unit he hit,,SHE HAD FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE AT THE TIME,,,BUT,,because HE was her Husband,,THEY didn't even act on the principals that (being with no liecense) HE stole her car..and HER insurance company rejected her coverage,,because HE had no-liecense,,,,,,,WHAT A WORLD WE LIVE,,for the powers to ONLY CHEAT THE ONES WHO CANNOT CONTEST THEIR ACTIONS,,as THEY have so much more money to put into THEIRactions?
WE SHOULD HAVE NEVER ALLOWED THIS COUNTRY TO BE A PLACE WHERE OUR LAWS AND ITS PUNISHMENTS ARE BASED ON WHO HAS MORE MONEY TO GIVE AWAY,,VERSES WHO IS LEGALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OFFENSE..
LAWS SHOULD ALWAYS "STAND" AND MONEY SHOULD NEVER BE A CASE AT HAND WHEN DEALING WITH OUR LAWS..
