Iv sent messages to people in the past and received messages, they always seem to start the same, surely there has got to be a better way of addeessing your first message to get someones attention other than saying hi im so n so, love to talk message back, straight to the point but predictable. What everyone else go for in there first message?? x

When I first signed up here, I tried sending out some messages to local people. I never got a reply, not once. Now, I think I can write a little bit (I've had 6 books published), and it's never been particularly difficult for me to conjure up an interesting/humorous/relevant e-mail, but I just could not get any sort of reaction that way.

I hung around in the forums for awhile, posted a lot, and eventually they started writing to me. Seems like the whole issue is that they need to get to know you a little bit before they feel comfortable interacting.

I don't send out first messages anymore, and I get plenty of e-mail here now.

I joined a dating website a year ago. I was a member for 6 months. I sent hundreds of messages and it was like messaging the dead. Just as I gave up towards the end of my subscription, a young Lady did want to go on a date me. The date never happened, but it was something. Just keep trying, but never try too hard, and always remember you are special :)

It's pretty clear that my forum participation was the thing that got people to contact me. Had I not been in the forums, I doubt if I ever would have talked to anybody....!!

Seriously and it makes a lot of sense too. Since anyone can write whatever the eff they want to in a profile. The only real way to get a sense of how people are from an online perspective is to interact with them. Also all the fun happens in the forums anyway.laugh laugh

i just email women with "i'm a drunk,a pervert,a druggie and a womanizer,so why don't we get drunk and screw?"they respond with"ew how kinky" then i email back "i was joking" then never get another response so don't use this unless it's true

I read profiles and write emails based on what interested me from the profile. If there's nothing in the profile, I probably won't contact them unless I have seen them posting in the forums.

I think joining in, in the forums, would be the best bet. It lets people know what type of person you are :)

Write in your email that you use your cleavage as a beer holder during a game. :)

try to keep it brief and u will only get a percentage of replies

that's life. One lady I talk to said she went on 3 or 4 different free sites and chose 4 or 5 men a day to message and she did that consistently for several months and it was awhile before she started getting replies. She finally did meet someone

of course avoid mentioning personal email addresses or phone #s as that's an automatic block/delete, usually
