Topic: So much for "Equality"! | |
---|---|
Created in 1977, the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA) is a 501c(3) organization that promotes amateur sports competition, particularly softball, for all persons regardless of age, sexual orientation or preference, with special emphasis on the participation of members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) community: and to otherwise foster national and international sports competition by planning, promoting and carrying out amateur sports competition.
According to that, they basically have to let straits on the team too. That's how I read it. They are getting tax exemptions from the government, so the government is involved. That paragraph was taken from their own website, so........it's not like a neighborhood game played just for fun. It's an actual league I THINK I found the right site...never now with me though ![]() |

"The ruling was announced after three bisexual men claimed they were kicked out of the Gay Softball World Series for not being gay enough "
![]() ![]() ![]() I can't help it, that's just funny. Not gay enough. What? They weren't flaming? ![]() They rebuffed the owners advances? No telling what is really going on here. They probably just couldn't play ball very well. |

Actually that might be for just one of the leagues, BUT...I found this from the world series
Welcome athletes, fans, sponsors and partners, The 35th NAGAAA Gay Softball World Series (GSWS) is almost here! From August 29 – September 3, 2011, more than 165 teams, from over 40 cities across North America, will descend upon Chicago to play more than 500 games. In total, Chicago will host over 4,000 participants and fans, making the GSWS the largest annual LGBT sporting event in the world! Series 2011 – Chicago, Inc. is the local host committee in charge of planning and executing the GSWS. A registered 501c3 entity, the organization is led by an 8-member volunteer executive board that’s committed to hosting the greatest GSWS to date. Over the past year, we have built tremendous momentum as we enter the summer of 2011. We are more than halfway to financial goals, through our corporate sponsorships with MillerCoors, PepsiCo., AON, Diageo, Chicago Cubs, Deloitte, Segal McCambridge and Aetna and local partnerships with SPIN, Sidetrack, SoFo, Roscoe’s, T’s Restaurant, Leonas, Green Team Properties, Scooterworks, The Glenwood and Center on Halsted. In addition, we have been vigorously working on the planning of the tournament and numerous social events. We will proudly welcome the athletes and kick off the week with our Opening Ceremony at Navy Pier. The annual Talent Show, with all proceeds benefiting local charities, will take place on Wednesday, August 31st, at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare. The tournament will end with a Closing Party to celebrate the competition and camaraderie of the week. http://www.chicagoseries2011.com/2011/ |

It doesn't seem very equal from what i'm reading here. All sexualitys should have equality, but obviously not.

Im wondering though, how they are going to have 'proof' of being kicked off for the stated reason...
was there a mandatory sexual try out or something? how would teammates know your sexuality with any certainty? did they kick them off immediately after catching them with women? ,,,should be interesting |
