caused the room to spin;
forcing everything to come
and then abruptly leave
I reach out to grasp anything close enough

watching the wind and the sun
play games with my hope
as shadows dance in and out of light

Night quietly fills the world with wishes
yet it feels like the first hour
when you told me . . . when you made time stand still
I watched the clock
hoping it would move
I watched it recite memories;
good and bad
I watched as every minute and second
slowly move throughout my life;

from the moment we met
to the one where we fell in love
to the moment
you left me with
