much love and admiration to two women who gave over their richest treasures to us, we the people, to protect us and serve....

When I loved your father in passion and desire, I cried out with joy
When I learned that I was carrying my first born inside my body,
And that I would be fulfilled, complete, a mother,
I cried with exquisitely happy tears~

When I felt the butterfly flutter of my son, my life sprung child,
And the slightly stinging kick of infantile feet, anxious
To escape the warm womb of the woman who held him in such sweet captivity,
I laughed with pleasure~

When I was round fully bloomed with the joyful bundle I carried,
I felt contentment at the knowledge that you were on your way to
Lighten my life, despite the physical pangs of carrying a life,
I smiled once again~

When I gave birth to you, my baby, my son, with your laser light smile, and
Your bright sparked eyes, and heard your newborn cries,
And held you to my breast to watch you nuzzle for your first nourishment,
I cried with joy~

When you first walked, independent and away from me in your quest to
See what this oh so big world held for you, my arms ached for the baby you once were~
When I picked you up from your first fall, concerned and scared, I scolded,
And told you to be careful~

When your voice, your childlike tone changed and deepened to that of a young man,
I cried with the realization that you will never be my baby again,
When you first found passion, desire and joy, in a young star struck girl,
I worried~

When you made your first teenage decision, one so disagreeable with mine,
I was rudely shocked and awakened with the realization that my child,
Once small and dependent, looking to me thru wide scared eyes,
is a young man~

When you decided in your young man wisdom and life desire to serve a country so
Often ungrateful to those who fight for our rights and freedoms, I cried with the
Knowledge that you, a strong and independent man, set staunchly on the path of
Life that only you will walk, are still my love, my heart, my child.

My Fair Wiz,, you have brought me to tears, Tears of joy for I am so proud to me a Mother,, My son Jermey has given me love, strength and so much wisdom in life and continues to remind me daily of what true Unconditional Love means,,, He is my light on the darkest night and my voice when I can not speak,, We have had our times of trouble yet have overcome all obstacles together,,, Recently he gave me the most precious gift known to man,, My Grandaughter Syanni,, When my son came to me and told me 3 years ago he wanted join the Military,, My first reply was why,, I dont want you to go,,, He stood tall and proud and pleaded his case for me,, Today I stand tall and am so proud of my son the Man he has become,,, My heart aches knowing he leaves soon,, I may not like the war Yet I will stand by my son and carry him with me everywhere I go,, and reasure him of the love and Respect I have for him and for the choices he has and continues to make in his young life...

You my friend are so amazing,, your grace and beauty flows in all you do,, Love you dearly Denise

Zanne, Mom...I dont agree with the war...but i admire hugely the men and women who are standing to fight my fight...our fight...they and their parents deserve all the respect and honor we can give them...they are fighting a fight in their beliefs and their desire to make this world a better place.....and you ladies, and all the fathers and mothers who stand by your children as they go off to fight this war are treasures to us as well....be proud...we're proud of you~

Puffins thank you sweetie, it is not my son entering the military, it is Zanne and Mom's sons...but I do have a son, and I could only imagine how I would feel if he was leaving me to enter such a danger filled world such as that!
