sixteen years in darkness
did I live at all
eyes not open were they
how the blue was blind

blind enough to shut my ears
ears meant to only hear
one voice one cry
but silent was the night

woke up on the dungeon floor
curled into my ball
lights so dim sounds so loud
will screams release my fear

my mind not able to speak
words and month were mute
seemingly unresponsive
inquires and questions unanswered

spinning with madness to be free
for the darkness is my doom
not the place to end it all
but the soft gentle feel of life

the life that must move
not the past or future
it is now that I must be
for being is the great command

therefore without knowing
I shall be
not afraid not lost not found
just be

compelling, emotive

Peaceful, simple and comforting

Live in the day, grateful for what is given
