If our military says that bin laden is dead I trust they don't have a reason to lie about it.

It is that simple.

Pictures would be low class and denigrating to us so no we do not need to show these photos.

It is of my opinion that you need to do your homework. I'll help you along here....start from Iraq/Iran war and move forward. Look up all you can on the United Nations talks with Sadham Hussein....continue on from there. Research Bush's reign, research baby Bush's reign. Research "The Bohemian Club"...yea! That's a good one. Find out what all our politicians are doing there in California.

I'm not even a political person for goodness sake! And I know what's going on.

I saw an interesting clip on the news today by some female senator. She said there would be no point is showing proof of his death because doubters are always going to doubt, and to show proof would not resolve anything.

From Wikipedia...

Doubt, a status between belief and disbelief, involves uncertainty or distrust or lack of sureness of an alleged fact, an action, a motive, or a decision. Doubt brings into question some notion of a perceived "reality", and may involve delaying or rejecting relevant action out of concerns for mistakes or faults or appropriateness.

Impact on societyDoubt sometimes tends to call on reason. Doubt may encourage people to hesitate before acting, and/or to apply more rigorous methods. Doubt may have particular importance as leading towards disbelief or non-acceptance.

Politics, ethics and law, with decisions that often determine the course of individual life, place great importance on doubt, and often foster elaborate adversarial processes to carefully sort through all available evidence.

Doubt is NOT doing your homework to come to an intelligent decision.

Al Queda confirmed OBL's Death. Even Fox News is carrying it.

Well if it's on Fox news it can't be true.

It's all over the news that's why I said, "Even Fox News".

Why can't you do some of your own homework, the information is out there if you choose to look.
It has always struck me how the righties on this website will make this claim. They can make any pie-in-the-sky assertion they want, then challenge doubters to prove them wrong. In fact, there was an earlier thread just about this issue.

You cannot prove a negative. It is preposterous to make an assertion without providing proof and then say, "See, you didn't do your homework". There is a reason that accusers are not allowed to bring a charge in a court of law without fashioning a reasonable prima facie case. The say-so of some "top General" who doesn't even rate an entry on the internet is not a reasonable prima facie case.

The OP is correct. We cannot see the "proof". That's because there is no credible evidence that this "proof" even exists. On any other message board that I have participated in, it is understood by all, Conservatives included, that it is encumbent on the maker of an assertion to give others a reason to believe that the assertion is not merely a figment of his imagination.

"The information is out there" makes for a very weak prima facie case.

To me, they are showing they have something to hide. But that's just my opinion.

If there's proof, we deserve to see it. If they can't bring it, they can't be trusted.

Why should there be doubt of the fact anyway?

There is no need for photos.

We are not a low class nation or at least we shouldn't be.

then why are you asking me for pictures then?

You claimed to have ten websites, prove it.

You are not our military claiming to have ten websites so you don't have my trust.

See again here is the flawed logic. If it's government or government related, you automatically think they will tell the truth. Anyone else? "Oh that's ********!"

You deserve what you get when that's your mindset, because you were not paying attention.

the logic here is flawed

the HUGE assumption is that the government is SO CORRUPT and ORGANIZED, that the SEALS, the PRESIDENT, the HEAD OF STATE, the CABINET MEMBERS, and THE POLITICIANS would contrive

1.pictures of a compound in pakistan,
2. news from pakistan media of OSAMAS death,
3.news from pakistan media of the NEIGHBORS in pakistan and their reaction to what they WITNESSED,
4. silence from the SEALS regarding whether such an operation went through
5. silence from Al QUEDA, DENYING It happened or showing footage or tape of OSAMA disclaiming it
6. statements from OSAMAS WIFE (one of them) regarding what happened

BUT, that a mere PICTURE of someone with their head blown away would be proof that all the other proof was actually legit, as opposed to more of the BRILLIANT fabrication of such a corrupt and organized effort?

its doubtful

for those who are witnessing and hearing all the accounts over the last several days and STILL not believing,, NO PROOF would be believed

Releasing these photos is disrespectful.

Tantamount to running through the streets holding high the head of your enemy while shouting and thumping your chest.

The act of a barbarian.

Not the action of a civilised nation.

Amen to that.

If our government did that I would no longer be proud to be an American.
