After having some time to think about it this seems a little fishy. they say he was killed over a week ago and not so much as a whisper about anywhere in the world. With media deeply entrenched throughout governments worldwide I find it hard that not one reporter caught wind of this. Then out of the blue this major announcement and two hours after the announcement he was buried at sea (muslim burial). I didn't know muslims did this, this is very pagan of them. |

Apparently, there are 2 different stories in regards to this, Uk version - Obama announces last night that Osama is killed yesterday in an organised raid, US version - Obama announces raid was held last week which resulted in Osama's death, body brought in for autopsy to prove it is in fact Osama, then buried at sea.
WHY 2 different stories? WHY no physical evidence? Even though the CIA had been watching him for the last 9 months, no pictures have been released to prove his identity. VERY FISHY......... |

I wonder how many people here know, that Bin Laden used to be a CIA "asset" during the Afghan-Soviet war in the 80s. He and Al-Quada was secretly backed by the US Government to conduct guerilla war against the Soviets. After the Soviets pulled out, he became sort of like a Frankeinstein monster of USA. Armed and even though cut off, he looked at USA as his next target. Interestingly, same thing with Saddam, Donald Rumsfeld used to make deals with him back in the 80s. There is long list of rebels and extremists in the Middle East, used to be "assets" and "useful tools", who were used one way or another as a negotiation tool at one time, later turned on their former master. A variety of sources—CNN journalist Peter Bergen, Pakistani ISI Brigadier Mohammad Yousaf, and CIA operatives involved in the Afghan program, such as Vincent Cannistraro—deny that the CIA or other American officials had contact with the foreign mujahideen or Bin Laden, let alone armed, trained, coached or indoctrinated them. Bergen and others argue that there was no need to recruit foreigners unfamiliar with the local language, customs or lay of the land since there were a quarter of a million local Afghans willing to fight; that foreign mujahideen themselves had no need for American funds since they received several hundred million dollars a year from non-American, Muslim sources; that Americans could not have trained mujahideen because Pakistani officials would not allow more than a handful of them to operate in Pakistan and none in Afghanistan; and that the Afghan Arabs were almost invariably militant Islamists reflexively hostile to Westerners whether or not the Westerners were helping the Muslim Afghans. According to Peter Bergen, known for conducting the first television interview with bin Laden in 1997, the idea that "the CIA funded bin Laden or trained bin Laden ...[is] a folk myth. There's no evidence of this. ... Bin Laden had his own money, he was anti-American and he was operating secretly and independently. ... The real story here is the CIA didn't really have a clue about who this guy was until 1996 when they set up a unit to really start tracking him." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Qaeda#Alleged_CIA_involvement |

Ok I know tha I am probably going to get my head bitten off for this, but is his death a good thing.
Isnt it just going to bring more retaliation and hurt.. Does anyone really think that if this has happened that the people who believe d in him and followed him will just lay down and say Ok you have won.. I dont know, Australia is a long way away and I am probably oblivious to most things that happen. But to me it seems like everyone, us included is losing a lot of boys over there already, and now people will be out for revenge.. Sorry just my opinion.. |

I dont know if there will be revenge, as he is now a martyr for those who followed him and those he asked to likewise die for the cause...but whether it will slow down activity is another question |

How convenient that he dies, before getting caught at all. Hmmmm. wouldnt it be brutal to catch him and THEN kill him? when there is exchange of gunfire, sometimes people get killed instead of 'caught',,,look at all the 'criminals' in the us who are victims of justified police shootings,,,, It would. . Saying that, he's better off dead anyway, with the type of reputation HE has. |
