Has anyone tried any home remedies to remove or lighten a small tattoo? Really don't have the money to go have them removed or covered up at the time. I have an ex's name & innitials I'd like to remove or coverup. I've used the concealer & makup tricks & they are short lived but work well in a pinch when I don't want the tats seen. Thx

From what I've heard, Laser is the only effective way of removing tattoos.

Putting another cover-up tatt over it is the best and cheapest way to have it look decent. I did know a guy who broke it off with his wife and was so mad at her that he took a sander to his arm where her name was! He sanded it until it was only a bloody spot, must have been some real hate there...

LOL...Yeah it left a scar but he was a hairy guy so his hair covered it up, plus it matched the rest of his scars...lol. Nothing I would suggest for anyone to do though...

Do an internet search Tessa, I remember seeing an infomercial about some cream that will lighten them, BUT the name escapes me. Of course you could also just look up home remedies on how to do it. ALOt of home remedies on things actually work. Good Luck

LOL...A little electric Black & Decker are usually vibrator sanders, those would just give a massage...lol He used an air powered rotary sander that spins real fast and will cut your skin at high speed.

Tattoo ink is under the skin and no amount of lighteners or bleaches are going to get rid of it.

Save up your money and get the laser treatment.

And thank God you are not like a lot of these thirty somethings, with arms, necks, backs and legs full of trendy crap that they will regret when they turn fifty.

IDK, maybe a razor blade and an ice cube?

Seriously though, I don't think there's a home remedy, or atleast one that actually works. For now, maybe just try to cover it up until you have enough money saved to get it removed.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm with someone now & although he says it doesn't bother him (he has no tattoos) I feel it's disrespful to have another mans name on my leg now that's it's warmer & wearing shorts & capris. Only thing I've tried is the lemon juice trick & it doesn't work! lol I'll keep covering with makeup til I can do something with it.
