Normally, I save my days off for when I've planned vacations, or have planned something else to do. But, I am taking tomorrow off to just extend my long weekend. I will spend the day sleeping in, getting a massage and just relaxing.

I am usually doing something on my days off, but last weekend I just laid around and rested up! It's nice every now & then :)

I'm not really talking about weekends, but instead, specifically taking a day off of work.

I usually only take days off for vacation or family time! & we are definitely not sitting @ home! Every now & then I will take a mental health day and go somewhere with the dogs!

Little of both and all depends what you got to do of anything.

When you take a day off work, do you prefer to go somewhere/do something, or do you prefer to relax and do nothing?

Depends, I usually work 6 days a week 8 to 10 hours a day, so by the end of the week I'm pretty tire. I use that one day off to rest from the week. If it's a slower week, I may do something such as walk in the park, on the nature trails, go fishing, do anything really.

I like to travel, so if I put in for my vacation, I usually go somewhere.

If its a single day off I will stay home and rest. If its a 4 day weekend (I have a 3 day weekend every week) I will most likely plan something fun.

On days off and early work days I spend as much time as I can outside, hiking, at the beach....
with all the rain we get here I don't stay inside unless I have to.
When evening hits I retire to the indoors, relax, watch some tube, read, or write, or whatever.

Considering I have 2 jobs that run nearly back to back, if and when I get a completely whole day off, I prefer to just sleep like the dead.

I work seven on...seven off...so have an amazing amount of time to luxuriate in my gardens, the beach, amongst my friends...wherever I choose..

I usually have a project planned out, in the yards, and prepare it, prior to my time off...then spend each day moving towards finishing it.

Totage - Traveling is a good way to spend time off!

Ruth - I have a 4 day weekend this weekend, so there will be a bit of relaxing and lots of family time.

Lori - I wish I lived close to the beach. I need to take a long weekend soon and spend it at the beach.

Mark - They're wonderful. You should try it out sometime. laugh

Jess - I'd love that working arrangement. That would leave a ton of time to enjoy life, rather than just working all the time.

I rarely have a plan, if the kids want to do something we do it, if I think of something i Do it, normally I sit on this computer and chat to anaconda..

My days off have no plans as to me making a plan or having to organise myself is work.

Ah, a workaholic. Do you do anything outside of work that you actually enjoy?

Ummm....I usually dont plan for any enjoyment during worksoff, not even on weekends but I actually enjoy every moment of my work.

Actually my work is very much interesting.I like Troubleshooting,Logic building,Analysing part of my work.

Though I dont ever plan for,but I've experienced that many partying moments comes to me automatically through my friends & relatives.I always put my honest efforts to make my beloved ones those happy moments memorable.

Its difficult for me to enjoy anything by keeping work off for longer period.

I can't imagine what it's like to not really want to do anything other than work.

Nothing special....
More or less,it is just like everyone else.
just instead of hobbies I'm doing work which is my hobby.

Yeah,me too get bored / tired of work if it is routine / typical.
But I've diversified interests.Simultaneously I'm working in different fields so seldom its boring / tiresome.

I'd have to disagree with it being like everyone else. Unless you're just comparing yourself to other workaholics, as most people do have some sort of balance between work and personal lives.

However, it's your life to do with as you choose. While I may not understand the need to work all the time, if it makes you happy, then go for it.

Thanks for your permit my lord, but I've already gone for that((again JK))

Nop...workholics are those who dont have other interests & personal life.I might not been here on mingle if I was been workholic.Right now I'm watching T-20 cricket match too with all my family members.I'm enjoying massive sixers of david warner & virendra sehewag.(perhaps you may not understand that as u must not be knowing cricket)I'm good chess & cricket player from schooldays & was been winner of this years company level chess trophy.(As it is very much time consuming, playing cricket is no more possible but thats normal I think).
After regular duty hours I'm always at my home with all my family members around & T.V.Set on.I keep working on different platform usually till 2.00 am.

So,I think I'm living very much balanced professional & personal life.I mean I'm satisfied & my family members too.I think this is all about ones works operendy, nothing else.

Anyways,Sorry If I argued much stressfully.

Just going by what you've said in previous posts, your balance between work and personal life isn't really balanced.

My day starts at about 8.00 am & ends at about 2.00 am.

Approximately for 18 hours I'm working daily in different roles.

Sometimes I think of getting off but seldom I do.

Work is my passion & hobby too.

Its difficult for me to just sit / sleep & keep watching something on T.V / Net without doing anything parallely.

I'm habitant of working late night & cant sleep earlier even if lying in bed.

Each of my hobby is related with some kind of work & I enjoy doing that with passion.

At any rate, it doesn't really matter. If work makes you happy, great.
