I'd move heaven and earth to find my love. I had a relationship with a girl from New Zealand once, we eventually decided to just be friends and I talk to her from time to time.

Covington, i hate to announce my personal life in the forums, but for you, ok. I met and married my last ex and we met online. No, it didn't work out, and this has nothing to do with why I am jaded, but he is the one who invited me to this site. Hows that for ironic? Ok, so.......now he is living happily in another state, engaged and in love. YES...it can happen, BUT if you can see the train, hear the train, get the hell out of the way!

cant we just play chicken with the train first. im sorry im just a hopeless romantic who believes you should always put your self out there and take the good with the bad i wouldnt trade my 5 years with my 2nd for anything. even if now i am alone away from home it was worth it to have love for that time.

I should also say that Im estaticly happy and overjoyed that my ex has found his true soulmate! We are still friends and like I said, he and I not working out has nothing to do with why Im jaded.......((((Gryph & Toyota))))

covington, I quote myself,

"Like I said, I may be jaded right now. I have my reasons, so anyway, good luck and best wishes to anyone who feels love is insurmountable, and Good luck and thanks for riding the reality check choo choo for a while."

No disrespect to anyone who finds love, loves love, keeps or loses love. It just hurts like hell when you lose it, and I believe that the uttmost care should be taken when making a descision so vitally important.

And the issue was that this lady didn't want to have the entire cost of the visit dumped on the shoulders of her lover, (be he OLLDR or not). I am in no way trying to crap on love.

Well it is to each there own. Your only gonna get out of life what one is willing to give. In order to things work out in any part of life one must learn it is all about giving as well as recieving.

LDR yeah tried it for a little over a year differnt states did I really have the money no but did I find a way yes. We took turns going back and forth. Even tho it did not work out I cannot not honestly say that I was not blessed at the time.

One must take a chance at times and jump in at times life is but a chance we live it and at times must go for the gusto.

For until you have tried it you will never know besides had someone make the comment that LOVE HAS NO BOUNDRIES!! If you put a fence around your heart you will miss the ones trying to get in.bigsmile

My .02.

LDR can be worth it if the feelings are there for both parties. And if you go into it knowing that it might not work out, of course that goes for any relationship. But online you can build things up so much in your mind before you even meet that it's bound to be a disappointment, you have to be careful about that.

I tend to agree with a couple of the previous posts, the feelings may not be there as much for her. I'd tell the guy to tell her that he really wants to meet, and they'll never know if they don't take the chance, but if she still isn't keen on meeting, he probably should just drop it. If she requires too much convincing, it's probably not worth it.

BTW, my LDR is working out really well. I don't know what the future holds, but we're enjoying it now, and that's all any of us ever have.

if the gal didnt have the money to travel..... and didnt want to waste his money...... i ask this.. why did she play with his heart and waste his time in the first place knowing this from the start.... ?

buttons, i dont think it's about playing with his heart, more that she doesnt want him to think that she's using him.

If she knew from the start....yup. If she figures it after the fact, then there might be some question, but maybe she just cares and doesn't want him to carry the whole burden. Where is the question of whether it will work out coming from? Seems they both feel the same, it is just a matter of her pride or her caring too much? Why does there have to be some kind of hidden agenda, or playing around with hearts? Doesn't seem she doesn't care as much as he does, or that she is afraid. Doesn't this whole damned thread come down to total speculation and that this should be something the two of them should talk about at length together.....tell them to talk more about it pepper. Only they are the ones who are going to figure it out.

well honestly if she isnt willing to meet someone afar... why did she waste his time enough to have both hearts fall for each other? what difference is it anyway? i mean if he pays the money to see her... not like he wouldnt of taken his vacation anyway? if anything they could meet maybe she might like it maybe not but could still be friends and he could consider it just a vacation that he would of spent the money on anyway?
