The ladies had been in their car since 3am, I arrived around 6am, they would have crapped ANYwhere. I totally get this... There's a small window of opportunity in the morning... If something throws me off... It'll be a chitty day for sure  
I've never been evacuated before... must be scary thinking maybe your home might be gone soon

Remind us not to throw you off schedule :-) The only scary part was all the sirens and lights and hollering to git. Wondering if the house will survive, well, when you see lives lost, it does not concern you so much I found. And, I am forced to carry flood insurance, what a deal. I have no cake.. :-( |

hahaha yes different things come to mind when reality hits. Like, something to pee in, when there are no facilities. Everyone had food and water, no problem there. Next time I will try to remember to put a wet washcloth in a sealed baggie, many uses, and tidy. Maybe something to read. Keep your cell phone charged. Know how to turn off the gas..outside. Haha. That's why I have a huge bag to carry around everyday. I'm always ready for emergencies. We sometimes have storms here that causes massive flooding. There have been times I slept in the car on the side of a road because of it. So I always have spare cloths, a portable toilet, blankets, food and water in the trunk. In my bag, I placed everything I can that I know I might find useful in an emergency. Instead of a wet washcloth, I always carry baby wipes. They're more handy, readily available and disposable. :) |
