...for those who know me...who have ridden the roller coaster of life beside me over the years, I want to share some really joyful and very precious news with you...

For those who remember my eldest son, Kevin, and his partner Amy, buying us, (Kevin's younger siblings and I) a home, a permanent sanctuary...Asylum, as we call her...and have tracked the journey of Asylum's transformation of run down, beat up old queenslander being trucked 250 miles, and plonked on our land, and the wild ride of renovation...on facebook...

...it seems Asylum's floors are to have the sound of little tiny feet running across her floors!

Kevin and Amy are pregnant with their first child, not due until August, so early days as far as the pregnancy goes, but Amy is incredibly fit, she represents Australia in Tae Kwon Do, trains at the Institute of Sport, has represented her state in Swimming competitions, is a qualified consultant, and A&E specialist doctor...

So my darling eldest son, is soon to be a daddy...and his siblings, to be aunts and uncles...and OMG!!!

I get to be a groovy granny!

Am seriously, deliriously ecstatic, and desperately in love with them!

Thankyou Tessa...

the first time I met Amy, I sat out on the balcony and watched her and my eldest son...the non-verbal cues again..i watched her interact with my other children, and found myself thinking of this woman, who so clearly loved my son, who 'saw' him, for all his strengths and flaws, and loved him...

and I fell in love with her...and celebrated the fact this woman, this new daughter, sister, partner, that was in our family, might one day be the mother of my grandchildren...

that was 5 years ago...and I still celebrate the joy she brings to our family...I truly am very blessed!

Jess, good for you.
Having grandkids is such a thrill, I envy that you will have them so close.
Get to see mine on FB, something I have to settle for right now.
I think grandkids are our reward for being parents.

You will be a great grand ma! I truly am happy that you are happy. Are you gonna be cool with it if the baby is Chinese? (they say that one out of every three babies born is Chinese..so it is a possibility)

noway Gawd!!!!...I am doing a group reply so I don't post 57 thousand times...(I know! not like me at alllaugh )

Eileena....there is ALWAYS enough beds in Asylum!...we have right now four spare queen sized beds...(three are futons)...Ry's room (youngest son, 16) with a double bed, as he is at boarding school most of the time now...(sucks big time)...AND two spare single beds...and that's without cracking out the hammocks.. ......and I will surely let you have first go of all our little person's new toys...you can be the official road tester of them.

Joy....how cool is this?...we get to watch our babies become parents to their babies...and all that love we poured into them, moves forward into their babies....we are so very blessed.

Sage....Kevin and Amy live about 1500 km's away....they have their own home way south of us...the kids and I live in their investment home, here, in this town, where their childhood was, is and their children can experience it....but 1500 kms won't keep me away, am already researching ethical nappy services, a housecleaner and a gardener as a gift for their first three months after baby is born...I never do anything by half...and seriously, it is two one hour flights...so am not far at all.

Sweetestgirl....I have so many extra non biological children already, none of them have made me a surrogate granny yet....and to have my darling eldest son move into this phase of his life, with dearheart Amy choosing to have his children, how can I not absolutely adore her?...what a priceless gift to give to another human being, and through them, the rest of our families...I think I am the lucky one, having Amy in our world.

Winterblue....thankyou...and already a bit nutty, gooey, and madly planning out the gardens for the future grandbabies to safely play in them.

Star...it was extremely soggy here for a while, and some parts of Queensland, and Victoria are still flooded from Xmas time, whilst The Northern Territory and Northern Western Australia are still copping it...we have waaay more rain to go, as we are only half way through our wet season, which usually ends around the end of April....(you can bunk in with Joy, I don't think she'll mind too muchpitchfork )

Krups...trust you!...and I would hope they are having raucous wild sex...they are young, fit and healthy...I'd be wanting to know why not...if they weren't pregnant!laugh I wouldn't care if the new baby was green...although I suspect Kevin might be a bit perplexed..laugh tongue2

Manofewords....thankyou...it's such a really special place to be...a groovy granny...poor granbabies..I hope they weren't hoping for a traditional one..laugh

Soufie....yes!....moving forward, allowing the whole journey of parenthood to move into the next generation...watching them guide their youngsters into their new world...it's so very special!flowerforyou

Kristi....I am already pegging them to be in for round two fairly quickly..and I have four kids, so expect...(hahaha!)...at the least two granbabies from each of my children...bigsmile

Holly...thankyou..blushing bigsmile

Terry...I spoil every baby...I am extremely fair in my indulging, spoiling and besotting of little people...and of course, will not deviate from that now...I have my spidey senses telling me this little person is a girl...but I could be 50% wrong...laugh flowerforyou

Tanyaann...or rather Mrs Tanyaann  laugh...am grinning like a loon!bigsmile
