S1owhand - I hear what you are saying. That is definitely the tradeoff. But there are some things we could do to address that. We already allow you to set a lot of filters so that only people you really want to talk to can email you. We also could set the bar fairly low on the percent of emails you need to respond to, i.e. maybe anything over 50% is green, anything over 10% is yellow, and only less than 10% is red.

Anyways, it might be something that we try and if people hate it, we'll pull it out. Just trying to get a sense of people's initial reaction to it.

I joined this site because some of the people on here look like they were fun to interact with. So far I am just having fun with folks on the board.

I agree that you need to have a somewhat thick skin in general when you're interacting with people on the internet. But I also definitely see how it could be frustrating to write messages to a ton of people and have very few or even no people respond. We're just trying to find ways to encourage people to respond without being overly coercive.

I admit I am guilty of not responding to some emails, but for the most part I do respond. Most likely I will not respond if it is someone way younger then myself or it even looks suspicous like scam which I have reported in the past.

yeah i know your all def. right about just having fun on here i agree but when i message them i try and see if they have been on this site recently and most have been on every day so ther seeing that and just ignoring me i guess idk

Matt you can check to see if they have read it or not. Go to mail and click on sent. If there is a check then they have read it.

It could be a lot of things. Maybe you aren't saying what they want to hear. Or they don't respond to e-mails. Or it could be the women you write to. Just put yourself out there in the forums so they can get to know you better

Seriously, I think I would be a lot more inclined to write to someone if I could see that they had a history of responding. In the Chicago/Illinois area, NOBODY replies and so I don't even bother writing to any of them anymore. But maybe someday someone decent will show up and a "code green" might alert me to them....

Are you sure you're writing to girls and not monkeys? Most monkeys make terrible correpondents unless they've been raised on chocolate and Spam flavored won tons...
