I remember these from being a kid growing up. PEANUT BUTTER EYE BALLS 12 oz. peanut butter (chunky or your favorite) 1/4 cup of real maple pancake syrup 2 cups of powdered sugar 12 oz. milk chocolate or semi-sweet 1 tbsp of vanilla Chocolate chips or butter scotch chips In large bowl, combine the peanut butter, vanilla, and pancake syrup. Mix well. Stir in the powdered sugar to form thick clay-like dough. Roll in 1-inch balls and place on waxed paper to dry while you melt the chocolate. Dip half of ball in chocolate to form eye balls place a chocolate chip or a butter scotch chip in the center that does not have chocolate on it. Chill 15 minutes to set chocolate. These freeze well. |

I notice that two yesterday. I found in mail that others do indeed value food very much. They may not be the best, I do hope they are indeed good enough so the ones that do prepare the recipes, that they come out the same every time.

Food can be fun to experiment with, I don't think that no two recipes are ever the same, it turns out a bit different everytime, thats what makes it exciting everytime, with the different seasonings and spices.

It can be expensive to have fun with food. I sometimes put other ingredients to see if it comes out better or worse some times good some time not so good.

These are what I call refrigerator surprise, or whats in the cabinet surprise meals, put together, my Grandma taught me along time ago that if you keep your main cooking ingrediants aroud, flour, eggs vegtable oil spices and such around at all times, it is less exepensive, but the down note on that, to use up those ingredients before the expiration date, however it cuts down less trips to the store, saving on gas, so it all works out.

My mother would joke about using left overs, she would say dinner is pot surprise surprise if it taste good now we know what works and what does not work.

The things that we learn from our parents and Grandparents, experimentation, they knew what they were talking about, I remember my Grandma always had a garden, and she would also can fruits and vegis, she had a pantry full of canned fruit and vegis, I remember many times helping here snap green beans on the front porch, hmm I love memories.

Yes indeed some that are raised on a farm have a better under standing of the love of food. They got to see, feel, and watch them grow. Then all the things they did to make sure you had a bit of the summer all year round.

I think my Grandma was raised on a farm, she knew alot about country living, I remember having her canned fruit during the winter, yummy!!! and she would invite the neighbors over for meals and strangers, back in the day where it was safe to invite strangers over, her motto was come over and I will fill your belly with a big plate of taters and gravy you will never leave my home hungry, and if there was leftovers, she would bag up the leftovers and send them on there way, even gave away some of her canned goods as well, oh and the canned jellies she would make, yummy!!!! well Jeff I will be back on later, got to prepare some din din.
