Our President touted the need recently to 'invest' in high speed rail... Citing the great success of the faster trains in China as a reason...
From China... "The high-speed rail makes no sense to Chinese people," said Zhao Jian, a professor at Jiaotong University in Beijing who researches rail economics. "Why? Because it is too expensive. The construction cost is too high. The operation cost is too high. I don't think Chinese people can afford the price. At present, the high-speed rail is a big loss." Can we really afford to build one for ourselves? People that pay no attention to reality soon find that reality (unseen) brings empty pockets. |

'Recharge stations' for electric transportation...
In order for those stations have the energy to 'recharge' vehicles those very energy stations must first be 'charged'... using the current 'power' grid... Oil, gas, coal. So we are not just paying the high price of this 'not quite ready for prime time' alternative... We must continue to pay the price for the oil, gas, and coal... (which our politicians are doing their best to make as expensive as the 'alternatives' that are being forced upon us). Viable global use of these alternative (and yes we will need them) is at least a hundred years away... don't be so quick to embrace something that may not even do the job. |

Americans are low on the jobs because we have Congresspersons and Senators that have held THEIR jobs for to long.
Cut a few of them out of the mix and all the 'bipartisian' cronyism will be reduced to a managable level. We are where we are BECAUSE of bipartisianship (the kind that occurs behind closed doors with a handshake and a stack of cash). |

The reason Democrats were willing to 'extend' tax cuts from the 'bush era'...
Because those 'taxes' will be collected by the 'broader' Medicare Tax on incomes over $200,000 included in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act... Further tax is also collected from the extended Medicare Tax that was also placed in the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 on incomes over $250,000. These two acts comprise the massive legislation that is commonly called Obamacare. Yall should really READ THE DARN THING. There are so many sneeky little taxes in it as to make it a TAX bill not a MEDICAL HEALTH BILL. Oh yeah... In keeping with the tax structure employeers are required to list medical benefits by value on w2's... so the IRS can add them into your total income bracket and tax you at a higher level. |

CBO estimates that the 'Obamacare' law will SAVE us $148 billion over a 10 year period...
OK... You do the math... National debt is now increasing at a rate of 1.2 TRILLION a YEAR. so then 148 billion... over 10 years. In Savings... 1.2 trillion a YEAR in DEBT... |

A tax will be charged to hospitals every time they purchase a Medical Device (tax is 2.3% of purchase) at the time of purchase.
(like I have said before this is a TAX bill not a MEDICAL BILL). |

Kinda like building an 8 lane highway in a 3rd world country, right? |

For those that speak 'balderdash' about Congress receiving 'special' federal insurance... that is a lie.
effective 2014 Congressmembers (and their staffs) will only be allowed insurance as offered by the same 'exchange' that all other citizens get. I have not yet found such a provision for the Senate. |

40% excise tax on high cost insurance plans. (unless you have a 'UNION' exemption).
So if you have a nice executive package you get taxed 40%. (plus the addition of the 'value' on your W2)... TAX BILL not MEDICAL. |
|
|
|
Here is a big problem...
One of the reasons why this bill will require a continual increas in taxes to make it work... Although many people that were previously uninsured will receive some form of medical insurance because of this bill... IT WILL STILL LEAVE 23 MILLION AMERICANS ININSURED AT THE END OF 2019... Requiring a 'reworking' of the system... and of course MORE DARN TAXES. |

If you check you will find those self-same congresspersons and senators had activie stakes in or 'investments' within the corporations that were so favored by the law... Just a GE now gets favored... and non of the main stream news services raise hue and cry over the confict of interest in having a working CEO in our governemnts direct administrative situations. |

You act like all these Congresspersons and Senators who have held their jobs too long, as you put it, are appointed.
Not elected by a majority of the citizens they represent. Don't you think it's best to let those citizens decide when their duly elected representatives have been in office long enough, or are you suggesting you know who best represents their interests? |

I won't buy into them. I vote to replace congressmen and senators in my area when the start 'diggin' in and passing legislation that is good only for their narrow interests. I hope that other people arround the country see the same need. but for you to 'ask' a question as a statement of my beliefs is a purty low attempt at balderdash. |

The reason Democrats were willing to 'extend' tax cuts from the 'bush era'...
LOL Poppycock! (a better expression than boulderdash, don't you think?) The Dems weren't willing to extend the tax-cuts. Obama took Bipartisanship to a level neither party was willing to go. Even to the point of angering his own party. Which this did. He did it to get the pubes to extend unemployment benefits for the millions they put out of work when they proved their economic policies don't work. Obama, once again, proved he was a President of the people by risking the anger of his own party. Unlike the pubes, who were perfectly willing to put the people on the chopping block to protect the interests of their rich donors. Even at the risk of throwing a wrench in the economic recovery. The party of No were going to use the peoples welfare as a political sacrifice to protect the interests of their rich friends. |

You do realize that at some point most Americans are going to realize that the only reason why Health Care passed is because the Democrats held our national budget at ransom to pass it... what do you think 'reconcilliation is'... Pure and simple a 'budget' tool used to pass bills related to the federal budget. In other words the Health Care bill would not have passed without being attached to something that NEEDED to be passed. it was made in a mud fight... time to get rid of it and do the job right. |

That's good for you, but don't you think it's a little contradictory to vote Republican if you're going to vote for someone who doesn't have their own narrow interests at heart? As the Pubes have shown, time and time again. |

As the Pubes have shown, time and time again. See... You haven't got a clue who I am. I don't vote Republican... I vote based upon what I think a person will do in office. I vote based upon what a person HAS done in office... I am a politicians worse nightmare. I vote my way. Both democrats and republicans have proven over the past 40 years that NOT A ONE OF THE CURRENT POLITICIANS HAVE CLEAN HANDS... Time to get a broom and sweep the dust out of congress, the senate, and the presidency. |

You aren't old enough or nearly wise enough.
If you vote Tea Party you are voting Republican. All they are is a creation, an extension, of the Republican Party. A distraction aimed to fool the disillusioned who think they might actually be getting something different. Have you been fooled? |
