Always been one to do it myself. Waited for a week for some one to help take down a tree in back yard. Finally gave up, couldn't get the chain saw started so used a hand saw. Took me a while but it came down. Then they show up and want to know what tree I wanted down, I just told him the stub in back yard.  I think I'm to inpatient? My hat is off to you. Using a handsaw is hard work. I wouldn't even attempt that without a power saw. Just a smaller tree, probably only 20-25 inches around. But still enough to break a sweat. I didn't enjoy using a hand saw with a mitre box for my baseboards as it was long tedious work. I finally broke down and got an electric one. Now I only use handsaws for the tiniest jobs. Thats something I have been wanting to do at my place. Pulled up all the carpet here as there are wood floors underneath, but now missing all the quarter rounds. |

Quarter rounds are relatively inexpensive, easy to match to the flooring stain and put in - I've done it, so it's not too hard!!

Some guys are lazy or flaky, but still want to feel needed. So when they're too lazy or flake out on what they promised to do, they get upset when you do it because it makes them feel as if you don't need them. And when they feel like they are not needed, it makes them feel less manly. Yeah this & I don't get the mentality! If you want me to need ya then don't sit around procrastinating on a project until I figure out not only how to do it, but that I don't need you to do it anymore! DUH |

When I was with my fiance and we were expecting my daughter he kept saying he was gonna put the crib together. I did it at nine and a half months pregnant. The trick is, if your man has a temper like mine did. Just act really, really, proud of yourself and he wont have the heart to get mad.

I found a lot of good information on the internet as well as some great books on projects around the house. Check your local library. Here we have free courses at our hardware stores to learn about some basic home improvement. There are lots of options. |
