My best friend lost her hair due to cancer. Now she keeps it short and simple. When we go out and she is wanting to look swanky, she will put on one of the dozen wigs I bought for her (and she looks hot!)

I just saw that showed women in India having their heads shaved in a religious ceremony.

I confess that I ascribe to the old "hair is a woman's crowning glory" thing.

Ladies - would you shave your head?
Men - would you support your significant other's wish to go bald headed?

When my son started cemo, and lost his hair, my other two sons and his friends shaved their heads in support of him. I wanted to also, but they wouldn't let me! But yes, I would have shaved my hair off.

When everyone else has shaved their heads and you are the only one left with hair, I think the view point is a little different.

It is much better to be alive and have no hair than to go unnecessarily to the grave with a full head of hair

Do you mean the person left with hair would shave his/her head? Tsk, some of us LIKE to look different from others. I have never been one to do what the crowd does. Ever seen the cartoon The Point?

If it was for religious reasons .... no support here
for medical reasons ... mountains of support

Shaving it for medical reasons is an entirely different issue...or to support a friend who's lost their hair. Very cool. I was really just trying to gauge people's attachment to their hair after seeing that show. Great responses, everyone!

The trick is if her face is sharp, if she has a 'hawk' sort of look then she can look even more beautiful with a shaved head than without. There are a few models in European Countrys that are gorgeous with shaved heads.

And of course I would support my lass. :-3

Absolutely.

1) Its their body, they can do what they want with it.
2) While I definitely appreciate physical attractiveness, when it comes to love I'm not so concerned if someone is physically attractive. (Though I do like women who are very into fitness, which often correlates to physical attractiveness; but not to hair style.)
3) It also happens that some of the hottest women I've known shaved their head, and I like the look of a woman's skull.
4) Many of my friends are punks, and I'm accustomed to this look:

i want dreads.
to get rid of them i'd have to shave my head.
>.<
so no dreads.
):

One of my exes was certain she'd have to shave her dreads, but we turned our coze time into 'coze and separate individual hairs from her dreads time' (not unlike the bonding our non-human primate relatives do by picking bugs from each other's hair).

A few weeks later she was dedreaded.

Wouldn't bother me, and I don't care what the partner thought. My head, not his.

There have been times when I've been sick of my hair and wasn't sure what to do with it and wanted to "go Britney" but I really wouldn't shave my hair off, I couldn't pull it off. It would be a mess.

if youre talking about fashion..id say it takes a lot of guts for a woman to shave her head..I did several times in my life and was often surprised by the reactions of others...people make a lot of assumptions about you if you are a woman with a bald head...

i will say that as a result of shaving my head multiple times two things happened..one I went gray very, very early in life and two, my hair is fuller and thicker than when I was younger.
