Topic: deleted recycle bin | |

I deleted my recycle bin icon in a hasty move and now I can't seem to figure out how to get it back! Any good ideas?

Lol, well I really wish that it would but it stopped working about six months ago.. it just starts up, tells me everything's a go, and then stops before restoring anything!!! I'm not too sure about what's going on in there but I can still send things to the recycle bin, I just can't permanently delete them :(

The deleted files are still there, but you have to recover them before you overwrite them. You need a program to restore your "permanently" deleted files. Might check cnet.com to see what they suggest. Good luck!

I'm not sure if that's it, I need to permanently delete the files sent to the recycle bin or they won't be scheduled for overwriting.. it has to be in there somewhere but there are so many folders I'm not really sure where to find it. I'm checkin' out the site right now.

1) Right click the Vista Desktop
2) Click on Personalize 3) Select: 'Change desktop icons' 4) At the Desktop Icon Settings, place a tick next to: 'Recycle Bin'. Problem solved!:) |

I was able to delete my trash can in Debian. I had two trash cans after running KDE and installing Gnome over it. Debian gave me the option. I can remember inverting all in Windows under files and deleting the recycle bin. Even though Windows called it the recycle bin it could recycle that. I made a trash can and all of Windows was in it. When I was done all that was left was just that trash icon. It reminded me when I tried to throw away a trash can but the trash man wouldn't take it because it was a trash can. But I put that trash can in another trash can and he took it that time.
