I have an opinion and an observation.
Observation- the world has become entirely to materialistic. Everyone wants something and its all come to the point of bringing the worst parts of people. They give to poor and homeless to feel better about themselves and feel theyve done thier part. And for that fpr the most part they want something in return.

Opinion- Christmas is not about gifts and what you receive. Its about the way a child lights up when they open that new toy and how quickly they forget about it when they see the next gift. To me its all about the kids and it shouldnt be so commercial. As adults, I believe that christmas is for watching the children, however if your like me, I dont have any, its about adults spending time with the people they love and enjoying the time you are given wuth them. Life is way too short to worry about material. The best gift, I feel, is to have someone or people you love with you and being able to see the love they have in thier eyes for you. Wether it friends, family, or a date or whatever, seeing a look of love and feeling the love from others is the most precious gift that could ever be received. How long does a shirt or a toy of some kind last? As long as your interested in it. How long will that look of love and the feeling ov love last? Forever.

Merry Christmas to everyone on here. I hope and wish the best for you all in the coming days and for the rest of your lives. May all of your dreams come true and may you find your significant other and find the happiness we all deserve in life.

I'm sure for some that's true and for others it is not... I don't expect anything for Christmas... I buy for those I love and care about and I give to those that are less fortunate... I don't see anything wrong with it but it's my opinion and what I do b/c I want to...

Christmas, like just about anything else, is what you make it.

Hate to be the one to point out the obvious.....

(I detest this subject)

Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus of Nazereth. IT is the commemoration of the form of god on earth in the body of a political dissident railing against the occupying forces of the Roman Empire within the 250 mile area that Jesus lived his life hanging out with fishermen and his pet hooker.

The fact that people who really cant afford extra crap like gifts and should be spending thier money on basics like food, shelter and education for thier children are rooked into this holiday by a society that also warped the celebration of the rebirth of Jesus rising from his tomb after crucifixtion into a day where you dress kids in thier best clothes to go track down eggs crapped out by a giant chocolate rabbit.

As far as I am concerned....Christmas is for the christians who have devoted thier souls and faith to a truly noble idea.

It has nothing to do with anyones kids. It has nothing to do with presents or guadily decorated christmas trees and repulsive crap music.

It is a day to give thanks for the birth of a spritual saviour.

What is truly sad, is the fact that an anti-christian has to explain this.

Merry Christmas!!! (I get rooked into ittoo)

CHRISTMAS--------------IS-------------------JESUS BIRTH and LIFE

in THOUGHTS,,,of many..

CHRISTMAS--------------IS-------------------GIFTS, HAPPY TIMES.

CHRISTMAS--------------IS-------------------ALL ABOUT SPENDING MONEY

CHRISTMAS_____________SHOULD BE_______The ONE TIME WE PEPOPLE OF THIS WORLD BECOME A (CLOSER) COMMUNITY OF SHARING OUR HUMAN ABILITIES TO NOT SEE, RACE, COLOR, AGE, SEX, STATIS, as a MEANS to DIVIDE US, or KEEP US SEPERATED AS A WHOLE,,,RACE,,,ON THIS PLANET!

WHY CHRISTMAS???

BECAUSE AS THATS THE BIRTH OF JESUS, SO SHOULD OUR BOND OF FRIENDSHIPS BE STARTED AND HELD CLOSE TO THE KINDNESS AND COMPASSIONS THAT WERE MADE IN OUR CENTER OF BEING CALLED
-HUMAN BEINGS.....

Just my two cents for what WE COULD BE and DO, at this one time of our planets year,,,,,,,,,

But HEY,,,I'm a tad bit NUTS to,,,so PLEASE,,,don't take my word for it,,,wink...JUST keep on being YOU and don't come to know any other ones that YOU might see as different,,,, flowerforyou

One anti-christian to another...you nailed it again. Why does it continue to surprise you to be the voice of reason? (truthfully it doesn't, does it.)

Sorry, I mis spoke, I am not anti christian, I am anti ??? formal traditional religion. I am fine if you have yours but leave me alone with my great faith, allow me my very unconventional faith.

As for christian, to me it is a way of life, a way to live life, THE way I live my life. Do unto others... Be honest. Be true. Be generous. Be your best self, do good works, do good work. I believe in Karma and live so that Karma is good back to me. That is my idea (in a nut shell) of what christian means.

Better question...what has humanity become?

Bitter, soft, greedy, needy.............

Giving, strong, generous, TRYING,

Guess it depends on where you are looking from, and from what perceptive.

Hope springs eternal and this is the season of hope.

May we all keep hope in our hearts and work towards whatever we have hopes for.

As some have said it has become what each person has let it become....

But regardless what some may think it has been this way for many many years. It is about giving and family some just seem to go to the more extreme then others.

It is remembering the birth of Jesus...

But even those that are not religions celebrate Christmas, as a time for giving gifts and being with family as they remember the past and create new memories.

I will always include recites and they won't be from Family Dollar! More like from "Stop Howling" or at rate the 'gimme' store.

I thank you all for your replies, but you have missed the point of my disscusion. I know it Jesus' birthday. I was talking more in a personal level of your opinoins as to what it has become, and the way you feel about it, not the literal term of what is it. But like I said, thank you for your responses.

It is all good brother.

For me personally, it is one more day that I hope my loving family and friends remain happy and healthy.

To want more than that is just greedy.

Christmas is a holiday that was unknown on planet Melmac.

However, this native of Melmac has discovered Christmas.

How the discovery took place is described here.

Couldn't have said it better myself. As for kids though; many parents spoil their kids and when times get hard and the little darlings don't get their usual dozens of gifts; they turn into little monsters as I have witnessed more than once. Most adults still don't get that Christmas is not about gifts; so how does one educate the kids about that?
