ya know Goodwill is getting to be the same way. It's getting pretty expensive to get stuff there, not much cheaper than buying new. Really irritating.

I don't know, that is a good question? One time at Skate Country me and a friend put our shoes in the same locker sans a lock and when we were done my ratty smelly worn out pieces of crap were gone and his pretty good pair were still there. I don't know what this has to do with your question, but thought I'd sharedrinker

there has been few times i had gone into goodwill at 2 differnt places
and they would have a antique dresser by the front door
the first one i notice was at the beach when we had been there and went in goodwill
they had that dang price at $700

and then the goodwill here (we have a few)
but the one over in my mom area we happen to be there and they had a antique dresser as well if i recall right the price was higher than $700

thats totally insane.. goodwill used to be cheap not anymore
so i usually like to go into the goodwill bins where you pay by the pound

It all depends on who's pricing the stuff. Some people are idiots. I got a Cannondale sport series racing bike for $5.95 last week. and they had bowls marked almost the same price. Who would figure.

some people dont know this but goodwill does have a price book when they get collectables

i used to work at goodwill many moons ago and i went to talk to my supervisor and she had a book on collectables

but if you go to goodwill bins then they dont care what it is

for i found something that i paid less than a $1 for and i came home and looked on the net to find out the 6items that i found was worth over $100.00

Then again I have found picture frames marked $2 higher than they sell at Wal-mart AND the glass was broken. Also saw an expose' on some of those crooks who manage the places taking donated stuff home without ever giving anyone a chance to buy it.

Plenty of second hand shops around that I hit....I just go to GoodWill to sneer "You gotta be f'n kidding me". Though in fairness...One of em here will occasionally do 50% off of tvs which makes them more reasonable.

As far as Craigslist goes...got some great deals and it is awesome for garage saling. Plenty of horny freeks if you need company for an hour or two.

It all depends on who is selling what you just have to look around till you find what your looking for.

I found my desk which is a big wooded western style desk for 1/3 of the cost brand new......It was only 6 months old the couple found out she was pregnant and well his office was becoming the new nursery....

Have found other things on there as well which where all very good deals!

So don't knock it till ya try it............bigsmile
