Topic: US soldier admits to sports killing | |

Libs called Vietnam vets babykillers. You'd have had to been living in a cave to not hear about it all over the news for at least a couple years. John Kerry is one of 'em that called them that. Did people really call Vietnam veterans baby killers? Answer Yes. many protestors were unfair to the reurning veterans, many of whom where drafted and didn't really want to be there. additional details Yes they did. To really answer the question, lets look at who said that. Although millions of people across the USA were against the war, not all of them took part in the demonstrations and even those that did, not all of those people resorted to violence and name calling. But, some more radical protestors did resort to calling returning veterans names, including baby killers. They did that because they perceived the veterans as wantonly killing innocent civilians, including babies. In actuality, most combat veterans took exceptional care when fighting around civilians not to injure or kill them. This caution sometimes led to injuries and death to themselves. However, the media and the photographers that witnessed the death and destruction of civilians and wrote about it, inflamed the anti war groups back in the US. Rightly or wrongly, they made the deaths of civilians more numerous than they actually were. And of course, the real cases of american war atrocities like the MyLai Massacre, only helped to insure that more and more people back in the states believed that all veterans were baby killers. Read more: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Did_people_really_call_Vietnam_veterans_baby_killers#ixzz171JPOMRV Wikipedia never surprises me with the stupid topics they have done research about. I will second that you would have to be living in a cave not to have heard of Vietnam veterans getting spit on and called baby killers when they came home.I think just about any veteran in a uniform at that time can tell stories about being spit on and called baby killer among other things.I remember reading stories about how Vietnam vets were denied loans by banks because some liberal piece of trash would not give them the loan because they were in the War. |

hard to even debate the babykiller thing, even doctors get called babykillers even though the life they snuff out is by the mothers consent
of course, men who were killing others babies (in war) would also be harassed with those types of names |

I am wondering if the poor Afghan farmers who were used for target practice have any idea why we have invaded their country?
Fewer than one in 10 Afghans are aware of the 9/11 attacks and their precipitation of the war in Afghanistan, says a study from an international think tank. A report (PDF) from the International Council on Security and Development (ICOS) shows that 92 percent of those surveyed had never heard of the coordinated multiple attacks on US soil on September 11, 2001. It also shows that four in 10 Afghans believe the US is on their soil in order to "destroy Islam or occupy Afghanistan http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2010/11/think-tank-afghans-dont-know-911/ |

You're thinking of CNN footage of Palestinians (not Afghans, Iraqis, or anyone else) cheering. Though CNN has confirmed that it is real footage, no one has verified the exact reason they were cheering. When asked about it, Yassir Arafat said it was less than 10 children in Jerusalem-and they weren't celebrating the attacks. |
