I am not sure if this is the place for this, but here goes.

I have been cruising the forums and unless I missed it, I haven,t seen a piece about our veterans and present servicemen and women. Being a member of the Armed Forces now a days is all volunteer. However, there was a time when it was not. These folks sacrifice a lot because they have to serve. Families get seperated, bills don't get paid sometime because they don't make much money. Yet, they willingly place themselves in harm's way for our protection. They have to swear an allegiance to the president of our country and other folks. As a veteran myself, I could relate to them. We need to pay homage to these brave men and women not just on Veteran's day or Memorial Day, but each day and night in prayers and other ways. I hope one day they all return safe to their families and be proud of their service. I have no problem saying my service taught me a lot and I would do it again if I could. Thank you, my brothers and sisters for all you do.

I grew up military my Dad in the air force and Brother in the Army. During Vietnam my brother was in nam while my dad was stationed in Tailand. I was born in Germany we moved all around the midwest. There was allot of pro's and con's. They do scarifice that is for sure. You do see the Vet thread for a holiday or special day but no not a daily thread.

Spinning would not be a grand thing. A rotation such as spinning would cause many problems indeed. I know what you mean. That white stuff was falling this morning. Causing me to be cold.

Your world rotates, mine spins. Since both halves counter-rotate, everything evens out. In hind-sight, this is probably a good thing. It's been some years since I saw snow that settled in Kaiapoi, but that doesn't mean I miss it! We have had a few hail storms over the last 10 years or so, that were quite exciting to watch, not so much being out in, but we tend toward hot/cold, wet/dry. A mostly mellow climate.....smile2
