greyhound maybe reasonable in price but i have to say that it is one of the most stressful way to travel. The vagabonds and the people trying to sell drugs. usually what they call weed we call oregano.
lol.
Once again theres the possibility of travelling one of the slowest ways ever. i make friends with the craziest looking person i can find. and and hope that everyone who means ill will leaves me alone.

That is exactly why I don't drive. I would look at a greyhound as a very large limo.....smokin

Actually......I just spent two days on a greyhound....yes somethings about it are hell on wheels......but then I got to spend time with my son and the people we met were nice......it wasn't completely a horrible experience......I really actually overall enjoyed the time...plus as an added bonus I had a hour and a half layover in the town where my other son lives with his father.....they came to the bus station and I got to visit and my son got to see his brother....depends on how you chose to look at it.....positives over negatives or visa versa.....

I did the Greyhound experience once.. My daughter and I traveled from Phoenix to Ohio (3 days, 2nights).. we slept in shifts to keep an eye on our things...lol Met some nice people but one lady talked to herself all the way to Chicago.. scary...and the bus stops are always in the worst parts of towns....

I've thought about taking a Greyhound bus trip, just for the adventure.

My brother just actually took the Greyhound home...South Bend to Terre Haute, he said it was a long trip but he would do it again. I guess IF you don't have a vehicle its not so bad.

Wow, I'm having flashbacks to my Greyhound trip twenty years ago. In Detroit for an eight hour layover while the building was locked down. A gentleman approached me and said, "You're from South Dakota, right?"

I nodded in his direction and he said, "Well, I'm a cab driver and I'm supposed to take you there." I just kind of stuttered a bit and said, "Um, won't that be kind of expensive?" I scanned the room looking for a security officer and he started laughing telling me he was just messing with me.

Another gentleman approached me asking for money because he 'just got out of jail and had to make it home to his baby'. As he stood in front of me, he kept fidgeting with a stained, torn up piece of paper that had been taped back together. When he handed it to me to prove his point (that he had just been released from jail)... I noticed the 'release date' on the paper was from three months earlier.

And, finally, just before the buses arrived in the a.m., yet another gentleman approached me to sell the jewelry he had pinned to the inside of his trench coat. When I declined, he stepped back, gave me the once over and said, "Well, ya' know salt n' peppa' make beautiful music togetha'. I gotta' room jes' up the street..."

Detroit was, um...interesting, to say the least. However, Greyhound was very accommodating to the passengers.

Every year, our bus company has a few Greyhound trips to do because we help them out during peak travel times out west here. I have driven our company vehicles(no, we don't drive the Greyhound buses) to Sacramento,Ca, Las Vegas, Nevada, and San Francisco Ca, among other places. I met some people who were nice and one smelled so bad I had to keep spraying air freshner in ny AC vents to keep the smell down. I wound up asking him to move because my eyes watered so badly. He rode from Los Angeles to Oakland, Ca. I have not had anything like that happen to me before and he sat directly behind me.
I rode Greyhound as a passenger from Philadelpia Pa to North and South Carolina as a cheap alternative to other transportation during my days in the Military. Just experiences from the driver's side of things and the passenger's side. A unique perspective that few have.
Whew!!!

Ever try driving one? Those poor drivers have to make a living driving horrible buses(at least out here in Cali). I have never seen such horrible looking buses in all my life. (YUCK!!!!)
