I think pedophiles should be used as guinea-pigs for chemotherapy drug trials. Any kind of drug trials actually....need to find out what will happen if someone injects too much of one drug, fine shoot them up and see....need to see what damage is done from swallowing too many pills, I'll give them the funnel to shove them down their throats....Hurt multiple children? what ever you do to a criminal, it wont make the crime disappear, it wont take away the pain of the victim...in such circumstances what you are talking about is not "justice" but rather revenge... justified revenged...eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth..I suppose it will have to do within our current societies. |

IDK that an exact justice exists for some types of crime a child can't be given back their innocence, a woman - her ability to trust to have serve the full sentence would be a start on justice - making sure the victim never again wants for anything - at the expense of the perp- there's an idea! |

I think every pedophile should be castrated. Period. Any sex crime, not just pedrophiles. Men casterated by being hung by their 'weapons' until they come off. Women - patch them up with tree patch cement. Ron |

IDK that an exact justice exists for some types of crime a child can't be given back their innocence, a woman - her ability to trust to have serve the full sentence would be a start on justice - making sure the victim never again wants for anything - at the expense of the perp- there's an idea! Murder of innocence, trust, their self image and confidence, etc. Is there any kind of a punishment bad enough. Let them stand naked at the town square (Portland it's Pioneer Square)Put their 'weapon in a gallows and have people take target practice at them. Then after a time a blade will come down for a public castration. Or throw gas on their weapon with a flame getting closer and closer until..... Ron |

Why is it so easy to run for the ropes, guns and other awful things....and then run around spouting love peace and christian brown rice....seems discretionary compassion, compartmentalised and doled out according to which warm and fuzzy emotion is invoked....is the base mentality of most. nearly all pedophiles were abused and horrendously mistreated themselves...those minute handful who are truely sociopathic are the rarity not the norm. a simple eradication plan is so ridiculous....like gaoling pot smokers and basic traffic offenders....treatment and education is the way to reduce the harm caused... |

No.....because the psychological impulse is not arousal of a child's body....the arousal is from the power and control over another....and targets children...the end result is the sexual act....the motivator is the manipulation and power attributed to developing and grooming a victim. we find it hard to reconcile as we are sexually aroused by whatever is our predilection...male, female, pornography etc...it's a direct sexual link.... with pedophilia it is not the sexual that is the primary motivator. |

I mean, you have given an explanation for the mechanisms of pedophilia which explains why you would expect it to not work... but do we have any carefully studied test cases that inform us of how well it works (or not), and for whom? Even if all pedophiles have exactly the motivations you describe, it still seems possible to me that removing hormone producing glands could alter that persons motivation - not just on the sex=pleasure end, but also on the control=pleasure end. |
