Any one really worth $40?
I just got the free trial version for the Daniusoft DVD Ripper, but I was wondering if in the paid version, are you able to up the speed. It took two hours plus for me to rip DOTD. Came out good though:) |

It took two hours plus for me to rip DOTD. Came out good though:) A certain amount of my time each week is spent on both windows and linux machines, so I decided to rip under windows because I figured there would be a *ton* of free software that would do this, and some of that software would be really easy to use. The best I could find was handbrake, and it was a pain in the *** that failed to rip the DVD perfectly - even after looking up and following detailed instructions online. It took it about an hour to fail to rip the dvd, and I tried many times. A friend of mine insisted that the linux dvd::rip software was really easy and effective. Its about as easy (or hard) as handbrake, but it worked. The first time. Without consulting any forums. You might try ripping the DVD to any reasonable format and size, then convert that file (with a different program) to a format more suitable for the Evo. You might even be surprised at how well the Evo handles formats not optimized for the device. |

Aren't MagicDVD and DVDShrink designed for DVD copying and backing-up?
And not for ripping to another media format, to be viewed on a portable device? |

DVDfab is the one you want. It can rip to VOB or pretty much any format and also has a file converter for pretty much every common file type!

Well, if that's the case, try something like videora. I found handbrake good originally but they seem to cater only for iphones now. The speed of DVDFab is what I like, especially as it has code for certain graphic cards that uses the GPU for the decoding as well to make it sooooo much faster. |
